How many people have you converted from being a non-Prince fan to a complete fanatic?

Too many people out there have this stupid perception that Prince is just a "skinny mother f***er with a high voice". They haven't gone the distance and realised his amazing musician and showmanship.

I think as Prince fans, we have an obligation to spread the word (this is sounding mighty religious!) to those who have yet to see the light and how great this trip is.

Well, I've been a fanatic since I was 8, I really don't bother to "convert" anybody, too much work!

I used to hate prince. Probably just because my mom only played me the poppy stuff.

But when heard his funk... it was a whole different story baby!! Now I'm hooked.

My mom raised me on the funk of Prince & the minneapolis sound (jummy & terry) in New York.

I remember running out of the bathroom buttneaked when i was 6, just to see the video for "The Glamorus Life", not even knowing she was related 2 Prince.

A:0

But I think Prince made my sister if not a complete fanatic a little fanatic at least.

Ok! Ok! I can take the credit for dragging her to the concert! lol

attempted, but it never really goes anywhere, they dig some songs, but it never is really a heartfelt relationship between the two

I guess Prince calls a distinct group..

None - they gotta at least like the dude & be a bit of a fan already. I've only made one full-on convert (from casual fan to something of a fanatic), too much energy to waste on those who don't appreciate it/him/la musica...
heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

I only got 2 get my brother in2 his 'non singles' at first when i was like 10 or 11, he started liking "Shake"
Now he pefers songs like "ballad of dorthy parker" "in love" "elephats & flowers". I Think his favorite Prince song is "In Love" he had me play that back 2 back so much i got sick of it after a while.

MRPRN, The Work is about us! UR SO RIGHT!!! I always Willing and Able 2 do The Work, pt.1 that is.

None at the moment but my roommate John likes some of his stuff. I've played songs from the ONAL CD and he liked it especially Joy In Repetition on the Afterparty CD. I played the stuff that he played in the Vegas show and he liked them too. When something about Prince comes on TV, he'll watch it with me. Maybe he's becoming a fan after all.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I think Prince fans are born that way. I just think it is a common link that make fans fans and listeners listeners. I think I was born to be a Prince fan and no matter what I do I will always be one. On the other hand, no matter what Prince does, there will always be people who just don't get it. They don't have it in their blood when they are born. That is my very scientific opinion. lol
I'm an org elitist... totally unapproachable.

you know when I was small I trully hated Prince but I was very young then, I knew only Purple Rain and not even the hole version beacause the radio always stops this song just before the guitar solo and that is the best part, 3 years ago I saw Diamonds & Pearls on Tv and thought it was beautiful song and the clip was trully classy (with this piano, women, suit...) I wanted to hear this song so badly again that I went to the store and bought a cd of The Hits 2, I liked his music and later on I searched some information on him and was trully amazed with his talent that so little people are aware of. Now I know many many of his songs and was to a concert and I am a huge fan.
So I think that if more people like me who didn't like him hear some more of the music and about his person they wil like him too.
