The info comes from the list of sources and the people I've thanked. wink

No publishing house has approached me about doing a book. mad

But you can just print the articles and keep them together. Then it's almost like a book. nod

Maybe what stopped Prince's momentum was that he wound up wearing too many hats.

I'm guessing that's metaphorically speaking, not literally as in the end of the Glam Slam birthday shows where he, well, wears a lot of hats...

I love your album threads. I especially love reading about songs I have never heard of like Strength and Slave 2 The Funk.
I look forward to the C&D thread! But where do you get all that detailed information?

No. "All that glitters ain't Gold" sortof suggests that the released Gold Experience wasn't the best configuration (I like the May 1994 one better), as well as the contract not being Gold. So I like that title.

Slave 2 The System may be more suitable for the Exodus article in which the song appears. In fact, I think I'll use it there. Thank you very much for suggesting it. biggrin

A possible correction:

The rumoured configuration including the Coca-cola song and his cover of Angie is usually said to have also include a song called Strength. You don't have it listed here. Is there a reason for that?

Nice work, by the way.

Sonny T's bass with lyrics to Gold. Note that it's a left handed bass strung right handed. That's how Sonny learned to play - with the fat E string on the bottom.

My guess is the 4:37 version, as it's credited to Tom Tucker as mixer.

Thanks again for a great thread Scifi.

My favourite Prince period 1993-96 ending with, and most definately including, Chaos and Disorder.

I can see why the May 1994 version is your favourite - as long as it definately has the released versions of Shy and Gold etc.

But i still can't get my head around TGE not containing Endorphinmachine and Shhh??

I have no preference on whether the name of the album was Gold or TGE - but i do prefer the Letterman front cover!!!

Dude, do yourself (and all of us) a favor and add this (and your other posts) to the Wiki: http://prince.org/wiki/Princepedia . This post isn't a sticky anymore, and soon it will vanish just like so many worthwhile posts from the past 10 years.

Hell, just put it in as it is right now, and we'll edit out all the editorializing and opinions until a neutral piece remains. You can always add the link to this post as the source/reference.

And perhaps archive this for yourself at your own blog or something like it. Plenty of free tools out there where you can post your own stuff: Posterous, Blogger, Tumblr, ... Post it at several places, so when one goes down it's still available elsewhere. Link all of them to each other.

It was never a sticky. I've never had a sticky. cry

So that's a great suggestion. I'll look into it when I'm done with all five articles. Then I can add them to Princepedia all at once. biggrin

Until then, they are prince.org exclusives, but only until then. wink
