Xpectation Listening to Xpectation today. What a gem! I wish I could get my hands on an official copy (if one exist) The homemade version I have starts off with the guitar version of "Beautiful Strange". I like most of the songs on this album but Xpedition is my favorite.
in fact, Xpedition is imo worthy of a place in the post 2000 Top 10 best prince compositions. there, i said it  and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

i'm still a bit sad that it wasn't released on the bluenote label back then because i'm sure that if it were released on an actual disc in stores it'd have sounded a lot better. the soundquality is good, don't get me wrong, but i would love to hear it even better, more crisp n all. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |

The song(s) Beautiful Strange have nothing to do with the digital LP Xpectation released on NPGMC.

It's one of my favorites! It showcases Prince & The Band in a creative era where they explore NEWwayS (Xpectation, CNOTE). Man what a jazz thing, it continues where the Madhouse projects two decades ago got a hold. And they got Vanessa May in the studio, right?
If you turn up the volume in your sound system, the electric piano makes shake everything in the room. And the question that is bottering me for years now: WHY was Xenophobia NOT in the album? Xcelent live tune! "Can I get U anything?" | |

People have speculated on this, but the exclusion from the final release was never properly / fully explained. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift. |
