This has to be hands down his best performance of the 2000's. The solo,the crowd control just wonderful.

As for this performance: it's great. But the problem with Prince live is great is the norm. He's given plenty of performances in the 2000s that smoke this one.

Fury - Live at SNL for one.

This was a killer performance!!! I thought that PRINCE performed " LITTLE RED CORVETTE" the best at the COCHELLA 2007 FESTIVAL with his extended rendition there.....but this new and improved version is HANDS DOWN the best live version ever. Sometimes a new arrangement will breathe new life into an old classic that an artist has performed more a thousand times. A big thank you goes out to PRINCE for releasing it on his LOTUSFLOWER WEBSITE.
There is a lot to be said for having a QUARTET made up of RENATO NETO, JOHN BLACKWELL, RHONDA SMITH and PRINCE.

Often depends on your own mood as to how you interpret and experience a performance.

I like Jimmy Carr's 'crowd control' at the beginning of his live show dvd. He's not even on stage and with just a few words on a large screen he gets the audience clapping, stomping their feet and cheering. Hell they even laugh and look shocked before he comes on. And off topic completely, but the joke is funny (unless it's happened to you), Jimmy's one that goes:

What's worse than biting into an apple and finding half a worm?
Rape.

But back to the show...

Does anyone else find the live performance that are on the net just a tad dull? It's good to hear a few live shows, boot or legit, but let's face it there are so many Prince live boots out there that after a while they all blend into one sound-desk mire.

Perhaps it's just that listening to a live show can never compare to being at a live show. I don't have any stand-out songs or performances by Prince from any live shows I've been to. The buzz and euphoria comes from the experience as a whole; the dancing your pants off, hugging your fellow fans and grinning like a goon whilst you're taking a pee with Prince wailing away on his guitar in the main room.

yes, this song gets stronger every time I watch it. And it starts of with that guitar WANG! here he is.

Last years he played the songs in different arrangements, but around Coachella I think he changed it into a guitar ballad rather than a rock song. IMO.

A question from a new fan. Prince has so many great concerts filmed and ready to release why did he released One Nite Alone and Rave both not even in the Top 20 of Prince concerts (the whole One Nite Concert is top5 but the cut down to 80 minutes concert on dvd he released is a whole other thing....)
What the f... is going on here? Where is the problem to release a good concert o dvd? Do it for your legacy prince if not for anything else.
I mean greatest live performer? Show it-surley not on the two dvds I´ve seen.
