ONA Live!, HCUDCMA: strings on the "call meeee" section, NAME THAT MELODY! I can't figure out where I've heard it before, it's probably something totally obvious but I can't put my finger on it. Is it a melody from one of his old songs? Is it a brand new melody? Help a sista out!!

He does use the same intrumental coda from the original 1999 show back in 82/83.

It's the same arrangement and vocal style that Stephanie Mills used when she sang it live in 1990 (I think) when she, Rosie, and Patti all paid tribute to Prince on the AMA's. | |

They didn't remember that it wasn't the AMAs...it was the Soul Train awards... -SWANGneedsalife I'm not sure if it was the Soul Train Awards as it was live and they don't do that kind of thing on Soul Train as far as I know. I might have to dig out the video tape again as my audio version is unmarked. Maybe I'm wrong; who knows. | |
