I think there are different ways to look at this. First, I have to sadly agree that peaking at #22 on Urban AC radio does not constitute a hit. Just my opinion, but you really need to talk about getting into the top 15 for that. The 20's on the chart is usually a key spot for Prince over the past decade. If he gets over it then he usually has a hit; if not, then not so much. Satisfied, BL&B, and now apparently BWT all maxed out at about the same spot on the chart. However, other songs, such as Musicology (#8), Call My Name (#1), The Greatest Romance (#8), and Future Baby Mama (#6) made it past this range and were hits that were heard by millions and critically acclaimed. That doesn't mean that BWT won't regroup, but it is what it is. It just goes to show that while Urban AC stations will play Prince, it doesn't guarantee him a hit. Each song is received differently. I'm sure he knows this.

Now, it is my hope that he keeps with the ballads and follows up with Ur Gonna C Me. Use BWT to remind people/radio that he's still here and with new material, and follow it up with this radio friendly track.

Sorry it a song makes it into the top 40 on any chart it is a hit. At P's age and being an independent record it is a good sign that he can even get airplay.

Wow. I thought I liked Prince. I think you're confusing the Urban AC chart with the Billboard Hot 100. There is a HUGE difference there. Many acts of all ages go top 40 on Urban AC and are rarely heard on Urban AC radio. You're only talking about 300 plays or so when you're in the mid 20's on that chart. It's not enough to saturate major markets and you rarely get played more than once (or twice) a day on most stations. For instance, anyone that really listens to R&B a lot knows that Satisfied and BL&B were not hits. The other songs I mentioned definitely were, however.

I am not getting the charts confused at all. I know the difference. 300 plays is better than no plays and P has had such controversy and burned so many bridges he is doing good to get that especially since the single out now would have no chance of pop airplay.

I’m well aware of his interaction with radio. Now you're changing the point. You said it was a "hit". It is not a hit. Hopefully, it will be; but it is not one yet.

It is a hit to me because it is in the top 40 of one of the billboard charts.
Really dude you need to let this shit go. I mean P has had 62 songs make it on some Billboard chart but according to you if any of those songs did not make it into the top ten they were not considered hits.

First, I don't have to let anything go, because I don't recall starting any shit. You responded to my post. It's just you overreacting...again. Sorry, I guess disagreeing with you constitutes starting shit. Deal with it. I really like BWT; however, unlike you, I'm not deluding myself into saying it's a hit. Others have said the same, so go pick on them too why don't ya. Oh, and now you're saying it's a hit for you instead of the general use of the word. Try saying that earlier and you could avoid this shit. Finally, please be clear when saying something is on the Billboard chart. I say that for two reasons. For one, there are many charts. Second, because being in the lower part of the Billboard R&B chart does not a hit song make. Please educate yourself on R&B music. Satisfied, BL&B, and so far BWT are not hits. Maybe they are hits on the Laurarichardson Top 100 Fantasy Chart, but that's about it. You're misrepresenting "shit"...again.

Testy up in here, huh. Anyway, Tom Joyner just played Housequake this morning about 5 minutes ago and I mean he was jamming it. Just wished that radio would play more of Prince other than the Warner years. As much as some of the aforementioned songs were hits on the radio but Prince has been blacklisted so to speak by the industry for going against the record industry but it would seem that now it would make sense for radio to play Prince since he was so outspoken on the record industry which radio is now being pushed to pay the performance tax promoted by the crooked record industry to get more money in their pockets.

Oh believe me, If Prince had a major label behind him for the past 17 years, he would have had WAY more hits and album sales.
