Does ANYONE Have The Gold Experience

What's up peoples. I'm trying to see if anyone has a copy of TGE that they could copy for me, and I'd be more than willing to pay. I bought this CD upon it's release, but had to replace it in 2000 because I'd loaned it to a cousin who scratched it all up. By chance, I ran across a copy on a trip to FLorida. Anyways, last year on Jan 12th, my car was broken into at a movie theater, and they stole my radio and over 200 of my cd's that were in the car. I'm not tryin'a rob Prince 'cuz like I said, I've bought the CD twice, but now I can't find it anywhere (wonder why) If anyone could help. PLEASE let me know!

Thanks,
Veli

You're not kidding. For some reason, this CD is now very hard to find in the record stores in my area as well.

It's now deleted, which is why you can't buy it in stores anymore. But it's not too difficult to get hold of on eBay or GEMM or other second hand outlets.

Prince owns the masters to this album as well as everything released after, it's up to him.

Prince does not own the masters to TGE. Warner does. The album has an NPG logo on it, but if u read the small print, WB owns it.

WB probably won't reissue it.

Didn't Prince bitch and moan about making sure TGE would only be released if he retained it's masters?

I always assumed that Prince owned the masters to 'TGE' and everything that came after it.Remember when he refused to hand this album over to WB *unless* they agreed to give him ownership of the masters? That's why the album came out over a year late.

Regardless,I can't see why the CD would be so hard to find. It's one of his best albums in recent years.

The CD was released by Warner's, but Prince did manage to get a deal to keep the master tape of it. The deal was part of the reason that the album took over an entire year to be released after it was completed.

Warner's simply does not have a master tape to strike new copies, so they cannot keep it in print. If Prince ever gets another distribution deal with a major, then it might be re-released. My reccomendation is that you scour the discount bins, as they occassionally surface there.
