welcome Deadflow3r. i'm enjoying your thread. i'm excited for you as you truly discover Prince. i'm guessing if you liked PE and appreciate his vocals, you probably think SHOE is sublime right?! it IS! i agree with you about NPS. i was reluctant to get it but i WILL say its horrible LOL. except for Wasted Kisses, The One and Until Ur In My Arms Again. those were REALLY good and seemed out of place to me. Didn't see if you'd copped SOTT yet. i think you'll eventually appreciate Lotus over time as you see its the "rock album" many have been clamoring for and P has 're-discovered' his guitar.

I am not by my music so I don't know if I have SOTT since I can't figure out what it stands for. SHOE was truly beautiful. That is the kind of song that I wish non-Prince fans could here. Honestly, I wish I could market him to a whole new audience.

luckily u were hearing prince on the radio through the years, and even more amazing that PE was ur 1st album, i know if that was my 1st album i wouldn't b a fan anymore wink
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I think I was having a brain freeze for a moment! The funny thing is that is one of my favorites, I assume it's on everyone's top 4 list. One of my favorite songs on that album is "It": I just absolutely love that song. It's a love song to me. It sounds like a man who is completely smitten with a woman and does not want to be apart from her for a moment. It's not disrespectful at all. Some of Lotusflow3r just hits me the wrong way. With the exception of "Here" and "Forever" he seems to be saying " This is what you have to do/be if you want to be the one who wins my Love". You have to be a dime, dance for him, follow his lead sexually, have bank etc. I thought no wonder this man is alone. Instead of sitting back waiting for women to compete for his attention maybe he should meet a women who's attention he has to compete for. Instead of wondering if the woman is good enough for him maybe he needs to meet women that he is smitten by and he begins to wonder if he is good enough for them.

I'm not a die hard fan because out of these songs you mention, I only have Come and Old Friends For Sale. Those are not particularly my favorites but I think Deadflow3r's experience with Prince's music is interesting. I love Prince's 1st to his 11th album, and if Deadflow3r loves all of those songs like I do, she's in for plenty of eargasms. As an old Prince lover, I may need to check out some of the songs you both mentioned.

I listened to Come this morning. I don't think of the Blues when I think of Prince but some of these tracks seem very blues. He also seems to sing alot lower on this album then usual. It's another album of his that seems to stand alone from the others. "Papa" isn't a pleasant song and I am sure it wasn't pleasant for his family to listen to. Then there's the title song. I don't know who did the fake orgasm at the end but it's a bit annoying. Alright already!!! I think a little more ocean and a little less of her would have worked better for me. I am sure plenty of males feel differently.

I know at some point someone else started a thread on ringtones. There seems to be a lack in good ringtones for Prince which is sad since there are SO MANY great songs. I bought guitar as my regular ringtone, CinnamonGirl for my daughter and Call my name for interested men. I really can't stand the poly sound and would have bought S.H.O.E. in a heartbeat as music.
What ringtones do other people have and what ringtones do they wish they had?

Black Sweat would be a great one to have, and ANY scream would rock. Right now

I just have verison and I truthfully will check out Ringtones before I sign up

with a different phone company. They can't all be the same. The thing about

Black Sweat is that only Prince fans will recognize it; that's what is so great

about the newer stuff. Everytime Rasberry Beret plays, everyone knows what song

it is.

So if anybody knows a great phone company for Prince ringtones please let me

know.

I lied I don't have verizon I have ultra cheapo virgin mobile. So you've had success with a ringtone maker. I'll have to ask someone who knows about such things. Is it something you buy seperately or is it something you have to program your phone for. Despite my love of music I can not read it at all and would be terrible at making my own ringtones.
