This version was AMAZING!

I didn't mind the vocals at all, but the fact that this was a jazz festival, and that Prince was able to revamp this classic song into a bluesy/jazzy/guitar fest that was reminiscent of Jimmy Hendrix in a melancholy funk, just proves that Prince is the greatest of all time.

His diversity alone is just uncanny!

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, and I know I can be critical of Prince's "Dirty Mind" era and lyrics, but the man is just phenomenal.

If this performance was televised the the "non-believers", Prince would have recruited a whole new genre of fans.

This was one hell of a performance!
The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

I luv this new arrangement. He does it so beautifully like he per4ming a brand new song for the very first time. It brought tears to my eyes. One of my fav Prince classics b4 the Purple Rain people came along....
eye will ALWAYS think of prince like a "ACT OF GOD"! N another realm. eye mean of all people who might of been aliens or angels.if found out that prince wasn't of this earth, eye would not have been that surprised. R.I.P. prince

Crowd surf!!

Prince kinda crowd surfed on the Rave DVD. It was well rehearsed though, so he didn't get molested.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I think instead of "crowd control" he meant "crowd cooperation". The crowd came together with nice clapping on the beat, etc. particularly at the end.

This was an incredible performance! Loved the jammin' guitar and vocals. Prince is always so good at changing up the arrangements to his existing songs to make them different and alot of times even better. Yet he is always able to maintain the integrity of the original. Just mind blowing!!

"Got to slow down!!" cool

I love the guitar bends he does at the start of the song. A synthesiser mimics this in the backroung aswell and it is just AWESOME. It's a really refreshing version of LRC.

My Girlfriend first played this to me on my home theatre system a few days after it went up and I was totally gobsmacked - I love it all. The rhythm, the break down, the "audience involvement", his facial expressions, truly awesome!

The original is my fav Prince song but this version is amazing! I can't describe how this makes me feel. I love it better than the original at times but then I stick on the original and then that sounds better somehow... The second chorus on this version is my fav bit (1:07)... "You know what I'm sayin'... Little Red Corvette!" Ah, superb!

All my Girlfriend and I kept saying to each other for weeks afterwards (and still do on occasion) is... "Slow Down!" biggrin

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Yeah, I love that bit too! smile My other fav is "...I guess that [makes it alright], You say 'Baby, huh!', whoa, whoa yeah..." The whole song as a musical piece is just mind-blowing! :corvette: (why is there no corvette icon...? Admins?)

I second that, Lovecat! (that could be a song lyric... I'd have to stick "Slow down!" in there somewhere as a small homage prince) I'd love to see some Monaco footage too music Is there non on Lotusflow3r...?

EDIT: Guess not sad
