Don't U agree - The good old days were much much better...? I am not sure this thread will make me popular, but I am one of those "old time" Prince fans who are very bored now...
Prince could release so much more material, cd's, dvd's, live downloads..... to keep us hot on the track, but nothing happens, damn it's really hard to keep up the good Prince spirit, Everything was so much better before the internet.... these are boring times. Maybe Prince just lost his inspration, he sure ain't doing much for the fanbase these days. It's a little hard to realize that every good concert goes directly into his vaults. The same with the extended remixes, b-sides, and I could go on. don't you agree - it's very boring these days ? Prince 4Ever.

not really.
Seems like you're mainly jonesin for the legendary vault to be opened. People complained about that back in the day, they complain about it now, they'll complain about it 10 years from now. The nice thing about now vs. then is how relatively easy it is to access the unreleased live stuff. I was halfway around the world listening to the Montreal shows a day after it happened. Do you know how impossible that would have been in 198whatever? Do you remember how much begging, borrowing and stealing it took to get a tenth generation crappy tape that kinda sounded like Prince? Also, we got three freakin' cd's just a few months ago! Maxwell releases that much music in a decade. "What kind of fuck ending is that?"

It's still easy to get excited as a teenager when a new release is upon me...but that's the only time i feel like that about Prince lately.
It's a combination of things....I got bills and kids now, kinda puts life in perspective. I respect the talent and will buy everything he puts out, but i'm not going out of my way to find the unreleased stuff...it's just not important to me. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

i'm w/u on this 1 "thedance" i didnt buy the last album. when i heard chocolate box b4 the album dropped,i was like WTF!!! trust me,its the 1st major release i aint got! i remember P bn able 2 make me digg anything he put out it was so creative and abstract and edgy and insightful and...u get the picture. MY THING IS THIS, how can he b so raw in concert and the ALBLUMs (2 me) cum off so...so...so...uneventful, if thats a word. i really thought prince was gon'b wreckin' shit when he split from W.B. i personally thought that name change move was simply BRILLIANT! dont get it twisted, he's put out some above average joints since then, but he seems 2 b blending n2 the mainstream a bit w/ some of the lyrics he chooses like "mr. goodnite" private jets and shit(4 1 example). i dont recall p ever braggin bout material shit like most artists.AND his so-called religious songs are wayyyyy less spiritual and touching than songs like "GOD" and others (2 me). i listen 2 P's nu shit and b like awww shit they finna kick some ass now! and i'm waitin' and waitin'... it never happens 4 me.(kinda like fuckin an not cummin') digg? i could say much more but i'll end w/ this, i'd much rather c him Live.(i dont wuna get n2 the love songs, but u can tell when he was actually"IN"Love) and oh, im a dude, and he still the prettiest man breathin'!!!

Yeah he doesn't brag too much about material things. But with P at least you know he can really deliver with the private jets and stuff unlike a lot of those artists out there. lol.. On one song didn't he talk about flying his lady to Paris for lunch or something? I don't see it the same way with him, it's more romantic instead of boastful in my opinion... I mean let's face it, most women love that kind of stuff, done the right way.

I like his new stuff and the old stuff. I'm comfortable with allowing Prince to determine the course of his career and how he wants to handle his product.

I'm also already sick of people whinging all the time for no reason... Getting a life instead would be a step towards the right direction... I am but mad north-northwest

I love Prince, but I am a fan of the 80's and as much as I've tried not to, my interest is waning and I have the urge to move on and have.

Prince either over-saturates or under-saturates the marketplace depending on your opinion.
Ironically, the best period (IMO) for releases was '94 -'98, two years of which, were spent in the turmoil with Warner Brothers. I think if Prince was the same Prince now as he was in '95, there would be many more releases. But all people change. Stasis, is essentially, death. Yes, Prince could release more via the Lotusflow3r site and satisfy the hardcore contingent without sacrificing commercial success. But for whatever reason, he is choosing not to do this. The opening of the vault does not necessarily mean the releasing of 'classic' bootleg tracks such as 'Purple Music', 'Moonbeam Levels','Witness for the Prosecution' etc. There must be a multitude of unreleased tracks and aborted projects since 1998 alone. After 'NPS' I recall Prince mentioning a straight 'rock and roll' album, there were the two songs 'Madrid 2 Chicago' and 'Breathe', which came from an unreleased album, tracks like 'Funk Radio', 'R U Ready', 'What Should B Souled' were either heard or mentioned. These are just tracks we know of. There have to be many more. Some of these would satisfy most fans/subscribers. But I think we must remember that Prince has recently released a 3 CD set, of IMO, very good material. Yes, it would be preferable if Bria's CD was replaced by another Prince disc, but there are still two albums worth of Prince material, plus the '3121: Indigo Nights' CD that was released late last year.

If you speak about the "quality" of the songs... I would say,... can be. For the remainder... all evolved/moved & we have today access to much more things than in the 80's. Remember... I'll die in your arms under the cherry moon...
