Prince Outfit In February, I have an 80s themed work party. I figured that gives me enough time to assemble a proper Prince costume. I'm not talking the pathetic 'Purple Reign' costume you can get from a fancy-dress shop that looks more like an Austin Powers outfit, but a real Prince costume.
Firstly, I cannot decide which era to dress from. I'm thinking either Purple Rain, Lovesexy or Graffiti Bridge (not 80s I know, but who's gonna know, right?). Does anybody have any idea where I can find clothing that will form such an image? I cannot find a purple trenchcoat anywhere. Nor can I find trousers (pants, US cousins) with buttons on the side. Or anything, really. Any help would be much appreciated. | |

High street shops will do you no good because the clothes they have are very "vanilla" and Prince's outfits are "tutti frutti" to say the least! I think you'd probably be able to find some Prince-esque clothes in vintage shops and thrift shops.
Another alternative would be to buy a cheap white suit, about 10 black buttons & a black fabric marker. Sew the buttons on yourself, draw on polkadots & you'll have yourself a great looking Lovesexy outfit for very little cost  | |

Save yourself some money - buy a flower and dress as the front cover of 'Lovesexy' - as in your avatar pic.

You can find a stud gun at any craftstore...
If you can find a trechcoat of any kind, you can cover it with material from a fabric store. If you have time to do it right, there are plenty of women with nothing to do but fix ya up for your party..that can tack the material on so that the trechcoat is still useable for standard wear. The studded shoulder piece can be pinned on. A little local chat or a postcard on a billboard somewhere could go a long way. Have fun.  "The Lion Sleeps Tonight... | |

lovesexy - all you need is a polkadot shirt, long hair, tight pants, and a mirror that fits on your wrist in the shape of a heart like "alphabet st"
also you could just wear something black with some big buttons sewn on it and buy a black rim hat Um... let me warm up my vocals
