I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore

This I don't understand: howcome a video of "I Love U But I Don't Trust U Anymore" (official) of Montreux 09' can be viewed in the net but not in Lotusflower? I know thta the whole concert has been recorded , will it be out in DVD as the series of Montreux (Santana, Quincy Jones...)?

It's certainly the sentiment that a lot of fans are feeling also... "Prince, we still love your music, but we don't trust your websites anymore"

From what I've read so far on the forum members have received 3 cds, a video or two, a t-shirt, and some received some kind of cd in the post. As most probably joined at the site launch I presume the annual subscription is until March (?)That means there are still 6 months in which to receive something/things.

What I don't understand is that there is no understanding of the lotus flower symbolism at all. In the Far east, particularly India and Buddhist countries, the lotus flower grows from the bottom of the pond, through the mud slowly towards the light. It is a growing process.

I don't know from what countries members are from but isn't all this complaining a very "western trait" and a very significant "sign of the times?" We click a button and we get whatever we want, whenever we want but particularly, we want it NOW and even better we want it YESTERDAY and if not we'll kick a tantrum!.

But how about understanding a little lotus philosophy and understand that good things come to those who wait. Patience and faith are valuable virtues. Hence, lotus meditations will train you to develop these skills which are somewhat lacking in the modern western world.

Be thankful it's a little underground. You don't know what's coming and when. YOU don't decide. It is given, when you are patient.beg

Just my thoughts on the whole issue.

Yes. It should also be noted that this time the video is from the second Montreux show of the same song (the first one she posted the other day was from the first show).

I heard that there's a performance with James Brown, Michael Jackson, and Prince.

Yeah, there was one on youtube from a James Brown concert when Michael J and Prince were both in the audience, and James called for Michael to come up on stage, he did, he sang a little and danced briefly, then he wispered to James to ask Prince on stage, which he did,Michael left the stage before Prince came up riding on the back of his "Chic" his huge bodyguard> Prince gets on stage appearing to be "zoned out," take that however you want it, Prince then proceeded to take the guitar from one of James' bandmembers and began to improv on the guitar for a minute, then he takes off his shirt and begins to do his mic dance and lets out a few Prince trademark screams, then stumbles off the stage pulling down a light pole along with him as he goes. This was around '84 or 85' I believe. I'm sure Prince cringes a little everytime he see's this one. I don't think this video is posted anymore, but I'm sure someone has it somewhere. It's cool though to see the two top artists of our lifetime in the raw before they perfected their craft, I always wonder what Prince was "under the influence of" that night. Did he ever have a DOC? I know that he was never known for dabbling in drugs, but he was really young at the time, and who knows maybe he experimented. Can anyone help me with this question? Thanx, I'm a new member of the Org community, Im glad to be a part!

We did not received 3 CDs, we received 3 files we could download. Given Prince's past history with downloaded CDs and DRMs, I sure hope everyone DID burn those files to CDs, but if so, it was with no help from Prince.

We received no videos. There are videos we can WATCH, and allegedly the fine print of the Members Agreement says it's OK to download them, but Prince has made no program available for members to save or download videos.

No one got a CD in the mail, that was a hoax.

Thank you for your correction on the cd. Please note however, that I am not "telling" anyone anything. They are mere suggestions & my thoughts, because many come to read the forum to enjoy and not listen to all the complaints.

I feel a lot got some value out of their money but for folks who were not in anyways near the vicinity of his recent one off concerts this year, I don't think they have gotten much value out of the website. I mean some new videos are nice to look at and a spandex t-shirt to be worn as an adult...I don't know if thats what many fans of the music, recorded and live, were 'only' expecting or wanted.

I guess if you're american thn $77 does sound alot but for me, i was lucky in that it only cost me £40 ish cant remember exactly so it was good value despite not being able to attend any of the shows.

what else would you have liked to see on the site then? do you want a shop or for it to be more like npgmc?

Yes, $77 is a lot to pay for a $12 album set, retread videos in the wrong aspect ratio, and a low-quality T-shirt. The standard fam lie is to proclaim that Prince delivered on "everything he promised" with Lotusflow3r, but the truth is that he went on a media blitz promoting the website and albums. He and the site's developer, Scott Addison Clay, talked often and extensively about the "new universe" they were creating on the website, and hints were dropped about such things as live chats where fans could actually stream a concert from Prince's home and make requests, and 10 albums from the past that were going to be uploaded exclusively for members.

Prince built up hype for the site that he completely failed to deliver on. Thinking anything else is completely wrong.

Do you have to go on every thread and whine about the $77 membership fee for lotusflow3r?
Wasn't it you who got 2 free tickets to the NY show in
Oct 2008 while everyone else had to shell out $2000? Where is your gratitude?

I didn't bring up Lotusflow3r on this thread. Others did and I commented.

I am very grateful to Prince.org, Anxiety, and Prince for getting to go to the Hotel Gansevoort show and have said so many times. I am also grateful to many, many Prince experiences, both in terms of songs and albums he has done and concerts I have seen. What does that have to do with the fact that someone whose work I admire and want to be a part of seems to now actively want to divide and alienate his longtime fans?

Have you noticed there are fewer people here than there used to be? Some very good, wonderful people are now gone because this site has practically gone to war over this issue.

he sure has...maybe he relates it again

nod maybe so. he seemed pretty emotional in the montreux clip. (which i hunted down since i missed it on here previously) hmm

I don't like to speculate about a person's private life, but I just watched the video and the performance does come across as "Personal". Of course i can only assume it's the female that's he chooses to be near and the one we've seen him with this past year. Who knows!

Well of course he looks sad. It's a sad song. Im sure the perspective he wrote it in and why he wrote it is a sad situation. Hell, I get sad just listening to it.
