Grand Slam Prince style

TRC
ONA
ONA... LIVE
XPECTATION

How y'all like the above albums 4 a comeback? I'd say that music wise these make a wonderful addition to my collection!

I love them, but now I think it's time for Prince to explore a new direction.
His career has always thrived on his eclecticism and I think he's just about done the 'laid-back jazz' thing.

I'd love to hear what's coming next...

Ahm...it's TRC and Xpectations. You can flush the other two.

I like TRC, but I'm not enamored with the other three.

ONA and Xpectation are okay, but they hardly feel like completed albums to me. I feel like I'm listening to a boot or something when I hear them.

The live album did not capture the feel of the tour IMO so it is a failure. This does not mean it does not have some great moments, but...

Musically wise, after Rave and NewPowerSoul this is a very impressive comeback. Especially considering the fact that

TRC
ONA
ONA–Live
Xpectation + Copenhagen, Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka

came out within the last 14 months. I think Prince hasn't been that productive in a long time. Especially given the fact that he did tour the US, Europe and Japan in between.

Very impressive indeed.

I agree... can you think of any artist that could put out such a formidable amount of quality material in such a brief time span?!

THe problem is that ONA was recorded in 1999/2000 and a live disc obviously doesn't take any real time being as they just recorded concerts.
