that there are so many wonderful jams that Prince hasn't officially released or re-released? Maybe he should let other artists release them if he no longer has an affinity for his own prior art. Or does he love it so that he wants to keep it all to his little self in his little vault? Of course all the black market and bootleg stuff is being released by Prince but we can pretend like some disgruntled employee put it out there.

it is extremely frustrating. u have to wonder what the motivation is behind not releasing them. mayb his worst fear is they won't be as liked as all the hype. who knows.

It doesn't frustrate me, I guess it makes me curious, but Prince has to make desicions about how he shares himself with the public.

When the average person opens up to share a 5 minute story about a piece of their life, it doesn't make it around the world an hour later. Whenever, if ever Prince decides to put a "Vault," album together, I know it will be worth waiting for.

ahhh but folks are frustrated about the videos and concert footage being unavailable at a lot of websites...no? We've had threads on this. Hell we can't even post videos here on the org but, it's not like he's putting much effort into marketing and selling them either. People who've acquired the stuff share underground. I guess I think for maximum profit and fan appreciation he just needs to release everything on the open market and let folk fork over the cash.

I'd only get frustrated if I expected Prince not to act like Prince. You might as well get frustrated that he's not 6 feet tall.

Newsflash from 1982 to present: Prince is not interested in opening up the vault..

Maybe he's building his legacy?
He's made loads of cds so it's not as if there isn't enough out there.

You know, Prince is one of the most, if not THE most bootlegged artists in the history of the music industry. He's also the biggest control freak on the planet. So makes you wonder if he's the one instigating all the boots. If hes so controlling and he has a vault, then how in the world are all these boots floating around?
He knows what hes doing. Hes not releasing certain things, but amazing how all this material we want so badly is out there somewhere.
