I ACTUALLY met prince..unlike the guy who smelled his fart :p I have been a Prince fan since I was born, which hasn't been too long since I'm only 15, but in 2006 I met Prince. My mother worked at a store where Larry and Tina Graham would shop, and they always ask my mom for advice because she is a natural health consultant. So, on a Sunday in June 2006, my mom and I were going on a trip to Wisconsin to go to the crystal caves. We went to the gas station and we went in to pay and saw Tina and she told us that she had someone that she would like us to meet. They had just gotten done at church, so, of course, Prince was with. We got to their vehicle and in the back seat was "Brother Nelson." They invited us to church the next week and we had been going every once in a while ever since. [Edited 8/14/09 15:13pm]

My mother worked at a co-op in Chanhassen, MN called Lakewinds, and Larry and Tina Graham would shop there and always ask my mom for advice because she is a natural health consultant. So, on a Sunday in June 2006, my mom and I were going on a trip to Wisconsin to go to the crystal caves. We lived in St. Louis Park at the time and the gas station was right across the street from our house. We went in to pay and saw Tina and she told us that she had someone that she would like us to meet. They had just gotten done at church, so, of course, Prince was with. We got to their custom SUV and in the back seat was "Brother Nelson." They invited us to church the next week and we had been going ever since. About a year ago, I was chatting with Prince at the Kingdom Hall before church started. I told him that I started playing saxophone in 2004 because of Candy Dulfer. "Do you own any of her records?" he asked me. I then told him that I just knew her off of his Musicology album. He then said, and I quote... "We don't have enough female musicians in the world, you should keep doing what you're doing, and if you're any good, I'll hire you." I of course wouldn't accept that offer until I am completely finished with my schooling. He was also at my house in 2007, when my baby sister, Angel, was almost 2 months old and he had a typical Prince line about my sister.. "Wow, a brand new life!" My mom and I were at Larry's house last Saturday for bible study. Tina, being her usual self, insisted on calling Prince and letting him know that we we're there. My mom said to tell him that she said hi, and Tina said that he would be excited. I'm still not sure exactly what she meant by that but he is always staring at my mom and excited to see her... :]
Great story,.. keep on going, you and your mum. Candy Dulfer is from the netherlands, like i am . She has several albums. Her father Hans Dulfer is also a famous Sax player. You have some music of her yet? So how is your progress with the biblestudy? I have the 'Keep on the watch' convention next week. Take care

Excellent story. If you're going to get a Candy Dulfer cd, start with Saxuality, so long as your mother isn't opposed to the title.

Well my dear, you will know and see him much differently than us old fans who remember the firebrand of the 80's and that's just fine. I'm glad to hear your story, he sounds moderate and normal.

Cool story.
Now go out and buy Candy's Saxuality CD. But tell Prince you downloaded it off Pirate Bay. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Awesome story.
And he's right, we do need female musicians. And we need girl's with bands. Why don't a lot of girls have bands? Most bands are all male, or male led with one odd girl in them.

Lovely story.
I've had some brief interactions with Larry and he was very warm and kind. He certainly doesn't deserve the rep he sometimes gets on here.

I love these "Six Degrees" stories. Does your mother have an olive/tan complexion, small frame, dark long hair, exotic presence, possibly mixed racial/ethnic background? Just curious.

This is a cool story, but putting it on here might jeopardize your budding friendship since you've easily identified yourself.
Good luck on your music! Candy is a great musician, good choice for your inspiration! [Edited 8/8/09 19:26pm]
