If I was your girlfriend lyrics question, am I hearing things? Hi all, my first topic here.
On the song "If I was your girlfriend" I'm hearing "If I was your 1 and only friend would u run to me if somebody hurt u even if that somebody beat u was me?" I'm hearing the word "beat" but others disagree. Am I hearing things? 
On the SOTT album version the part in question starts at 2:00 On the Hits edit version it plays at 1:49 Maybe I need a hearing exam, blasting my ipod too loud

There is no beat in that verse or the song for that manner. your ears indeed played tricks with u.
