I always felt the video clip had a DARK feeling about it. For some reason it always made me feel uneasy.
I love the song. My name is Naz!!! and I have a windmill where my brain is supposed to be.....

..mzsexybaby This is the closest explaination I can put out from the man himself I don't really want to get into it specifically. During the Dirty Mind period, I would go into fits of depression and get physically ill. I would have to call people to help get me out of it. I don't do that anymore. What were you depressed about? A lot had to do with the band's situation, the fact that I couldn't make people in the band understand how great we could all be together if we all played our part. A lot had to do with being in love with someone and not getting any love back. And there was the fact that I didn't talk much with my father and sister. Anyway, a lot of things happened in this two-day period, but I don't want to get into it right now. How'd you get over it? That's what the movie's going to be about. Paisley Park is the only way I can say I got over it now. Paisley Park is the place one should find in oneself, where one can go when one is alone. You say you've now found the place where you can go to be alone. Is it your house? Within the family you've built around yourself? With God? It's a combination of things. I think when one discovers himself, he discovers God. Or maybe it's the other way around. I'm not sure...It's hard to put into words. It's a feeling -- someone knows when they get it. That's all I can really say.

I dunno, but, for some reason it brings up a lot of emotions in me. Happy ones. Almost like I should be wearing a white dress and skipping thru a field of flowers or birds...or bubbles...

LOVE that song to death! One of my favorites on that album... I think what caught my ear the most was the calliope playing in the background... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

[Edited 8/26/09 18:55pm] Longer guitar solo, girls laughing, beach sound, nice guitar work Yep...It's one of the FEW songs that I like on that album. But I always liked it..The first time I heard it, I liked it. Also the first time I heard it, it instantly reminded me of The Beatles "Revolution". Especially the guitar chords and riffs that P played on this track is very similar to what Lennon played on "Revolution". Something that people may find interesting that didn't already know this...P actually recorded this song on March 9, 1984. Just eight days after he recorded When Doves Cry. PAISLEY PARK simultaneously plods along with the grounded drum pattern and floats with the organ bubbling during the verses. A truly joyous song Paisley Park has one of Prince's most beautiful choruses that just makes me smile when i (attempt) to sing it. I remember when I first listened to this song, I felt like i was in the clouds looking down on the song rather than being emersed in it. And let me tell you the view was pretty spectacular. and still is. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

One of Prince's best 'pop' songs IMO. Extended version's cool too...

A great album. A stand-out track. The 12" Extended version is bliss. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I love that whole album Something about it is totally different from all his 1978-1988 albums yet it somehow connects 4U-Purple Rain with Parade-Lovesexy the sounds: there are new sexy sounds like the finger cymbals(LOVE IT), that swirling electric guitar sound-which you can hear on Purple Rain music a bit, the echoey piano playing, the linn, ATWIAD too me connects Purple Rain with Parade and is like some escape, personal, intimate piece of art that helps me to understand him the band sessions singers:Taj Brad Marsh Jill, Novi and proteges during this the Purple Rain - Parade transition. Still my #1 fav Prince album

i've always loved this song. It was the first track I heard from ATWIAD. When it released without a single, my local radio station featured this song on its airwaves. Still brings back great memories from that time in my life. * * *
