MTV broadcast show with Mavis Staples...

I am a newbie so please bear with me:) Does anyone have any information on the small club show that was broadcast on MTV in the early 90's feauturing Prince with Mavis Staples? I remember watching it and never seeing or hearing of it again...I have a vague recollection that it may have been filmed in Chicago, but I could be way off.I remember he played "Red House" and "Jailhouse Rock"-it seemed it was one of the first of many times he 'rediscovered' his electric guitar side...I also wonder what became of the short acoustic set he did for VH-1 for the Musicology release where he did a beautiful "Sweet Thing" arranged for acoustic guitar...I am REALLY a newbie to the board (this is my first post)so I am stating the obvious-it is funny how he does these things and then they are yanked into the mists of time...

It's likely what you are talking about is "The Sacrifice of Victor", depending on what territory of the world you are in. The aftershow of the final concert on the ACT II tour in September 1993 was filmed and the program was broadcast in some countries. It featured The Steeles, The NPG featuring Tony Mosley and Mavis Staples. Prince performed "The Ride", "Jailhouse Rock" and "Peach".

The show was released on Laserdisc and Home Video in 1994. You can watch the program in its entirety on www.LOtUSFLOW3R.com

Thank you so much! I will check it out...maybe I can find it on eBay...It was indeed "Jailhouse Rock" and not "Red House"...although I'm certain he has ripped into that one on occasion! Thanks again!
