Dance 4 Me has great single potential if you ask me... is he planning on releasing any more singles from the album???

Not that I believe there's really any point in Prince releasing singles these days, but I just like seeing the videos....

Cuz I NEVER hear ANY of his new stuff on the radio. Back in the 20th century when you hear someone say "so and so released a new single" that usually meant you could catch it on the radio.

I'm always intrigued as to why he bothers making music videos, particularly once the album has already dropped. I mean, he filmed videos for both Chelsea Rodgers and SHOE from Planet Earth... but what for? Has anybody seen it played on TV?

There is no real method to why Prince makes a video for a song. Albums he basically wasn't even behind still have videos for some of the songs on them(Chaos & Disorder, Come) while other songs that were extremely popular for him lack videos (Adore, She's Always In My Hair, 17 days). Then there were the unreleased tracks that got videos despite being unreleased. The video should be perceived as nothing more than a video.

What retail outlets? Virgin Megastores are going broke. Tower Records went kaput. HMV came and went in the blink of an eye. Anywhere you can buy a CD now in america you can also swing over a few aisles and get diapers and Wheat Thins. These places can only sell the most popular artists due to lack of space. Singles are out of the question in most of them.

Since Planet Earth onwards, the extent of Prince's so-called single releases hasn't ended up being a lot more than a video being shot and then shown randomly online...

I can't remember the last time he released a physical format or had a new release getting airplay on radio stations. He just doesn't do that anymore.

I wasn't saying that it did. I was saying that a music video is pretty much all you're gonna get from Prince these days, as he doesn't seem to release singles anymore.
