Do you dance at Prince concerts? Do you dance at Prince concerts? Or do you stare like I do? I've been to a few shows and a few after-shows, and I am never fully able to play along with the audience participation because I just end up staring at the man.
I don't find him attractive in the least. But I do find him charismatic and visually spellbinding. It's kind of embarrassing because I've always gotten good seats close to the where he can see me. And Prince demands a lot of audience participation sometimes , but I just never break away from just staring at him.

Dance, dance and dance some more I actually miss a lot of the show sometimes and I'm always sorry afterward. I just love the music so much I can"t sit still. Help others get ahead. You will always stand

I cut a rug at a Prince show, lol. I make sure not to forget to look at him and the band while I cut my rug though, I can mos def get lost in all the music/dancing. U can cut off all my fins - But 2 your ways I will not bend
I'll die before I let U tell me how 2 swim And I'll come back again as a dolphin

Peeps are most definitely wired differently.
When I C peeps not dancin 2 Prince music, I don't understand why. Prince's music motivates my soul (and body) so much so that I rejoice 'n shake it. I can't comprehend what those who don't dance are thinking or feeling. When I C folk just standing there, I have to shake my head. I don't think they are hearing the same thing that I am. Don't know how else to xplain it.

I guess I think I'm too cool to dance. I'll bob my head to the music however. It doesn't keep me from thoroughly enjoying the experience though.

depends on what's going on. if it's a party onstage and there's a party around me, then i'm gonna dance. if prince is off in guitargodland, then i usually just stand there in awe and try to take it all in. if it's piano medley time, i usually have a seat and relax.

Are you kidding? I can stare at his pictures when I get home. When I'm at his concerts I give Full participation, and when it's over I'm usually so tired you would have thought I was the one giving the show. I'm hoarse from screaming and singing along, my hands are sore from clapping and I am on cloud nine. Can't wait to do it all over again!!

Like about 20 other people on here that are the "fools" that wait in line for 8-10 hours to be right at the stage, I do the "headebob." I've been right up there against that stage and with everyone pushng on U, U really can't dance. Out of the 38 concerts/aftershows, I've been against the stage 90% of the time. I can dance at home, in a club and even that great night on stage with the man himself but not when you're in the front row. Now some of my other diehards out there that do a ton of shows, more power 2U 4 dancing, I'm a watcher when I'm that close. I study his and the bands movements so close.

Hell, if I pay upwards of a thousand dolalrs to see Prince, please beleive I will be dancing, singing along, cutting flips, carwheels and everything.
He better keep an eye on his Hohner, I might grab it and knock off a riff or two. Would I dance? HELL YEAH. I love a Man who:

When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

For real! Who's gonna pay for one night with Prince and not Party? You may never see him again. When he said stand up, I stood up, when he said clap yo' hands, I clapped till my hands almost fell off. What a ride!

I have tried to, but there has never been enough room really...People are slinging around beers and just being on the wild side. Prince concerts don't have as much audience discipline as does Frankie Beverly and Maze. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Where do you go and see him at? I've never had a bad experience at a Prince show. I met one of my girlfriends at Diamonds & Pearls(Radio City) and at the Palladium this one girl spent the night running her hands thru my hair after he sang "Shhh...". Nothing but love up in the shows here in the NYC! my only bad prince show experience (and it wasn't THAT bad because we got seats that were beyond perfect) was having some dumb twunt next to me who WOULD NOT GET OFF HER CELL PHONE the whole show. prince was literally right in front of us playing, and she'd have her back turned yapping to whoever about some bullshit.
i made sure to clap directly into her face at the end of every song. i couldn't help it. the floor was crowded.

Are you kidding??!! Of COURSE I dance at Prince concerts, I was doing the 'Cream' move at the O2 and he gave me a big grin! As for Indigo2 when Chelsea Rogers came on, ShelbyJ was laughing at me, in a nice way (I think). Although, to be fair, in the first 15 minutes of the first concert I saw I did just stare, motionless because I couldn't believe it was actually him! He was also playing guitar by himself. But by the time he got to Housequake I was jumping up and down in 4/5 inch platform wedges, and would have stood on my head if he's asked me to [Edited 8/24/09 6:31am]

I really don't know how one can't dance at a Prince show. I shake my head at those who stand there like statues at a show and I pray that Prince doesn't see them cause I don't want him to shorten up the show. You just don't know with him. Plus, its so funky in them show that it automatically cause me to shake it! I consider his shows "Excercise."
Prince needs to come back to NYC so I can get another workout! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Wrong. He's done a lot of general admission shows since 2006. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Prince needs to come back to NYC so I can get another workout! At Indigo2 Shelby came out, practically shouting at us "If you don't want to party GO HOME, if you don't want to party GO HOME!!" We were like "No WAY" But yes Prince feeds off he audience, he always says it's a two way thing. And I agree, how ANYONE can just stand there when that music starts, especially in a small venue is beyond me too. Yep! sore hands, sore feet, happy heart...

Wait what's the problem, again? gotanproject said: And Prince demands a lot of audience participation sometimes , but I just never break away from just staring at him.
My advice: Stare and dance. It's quite simple really. "For those who know the number and don't call...Fuck all y'all"
