What about the "Justify My Love" video? She had a massive and bitter feud w/ them over her Maverick Records imprint years ago. Madonna has never been one to sit quietly and do what she's told by record company executives. That entire notion is laughable. * * *

I heard "Better With Time" on KJLH about an hour ago. I guess it's getting some attention. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Gorgeous tune. Certainly not an immediate grabber like some of his others, but still a beautifully crafted song with top notch vocals

prince once again never fails me in questioning his logic ..instead of pushing dance/shake yo money maker tunes, he's more in favor of ballads as singles...wait..isn't this the same pattern that larry graham took? hard funk artist turned ...ballader?
damn! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

purplecam said: My thing is I want Prince to release songs that will grab EVERYONE, not just one segment of people. BWT is not a bad song but it won't grab the kids or some adults, even on the R&B stations. He needs to release "Dance 4 Me" or "Here". Those songs are smash hits waiting to happen cause they will grab everyone by the balls. Plus he needs to stop focusing primarily on the R&B stations. He needs to bet back on the Pop stations and I won't buy that he can't get new music played there. He needs the right people around to push these songs, but of course Prince won't get the right people around him. I just don't get him when it comes to him and these single choices.
[Edited 8/21/09 6:42am] Well I don't know if it's the pop stations he needs to get back on. I would hope, jazz, soul, or dance. But yes enough r&b in this day and age it is just so cliche.Even if it's a nice tune. Everyone is doing r&b when will a new genre arrive? I still think he should be on Pop radio stations cause as long as he is making Pop Music, he should be on there. I guess I'm still stuck in 1989 with my thinking but I don't think I'm wrong. You brought up something I never thought of Bohemian67. I'd love for him to be on Dance radio stations. Some DJ could do a remix of Better With Time or some other tune from MPLSound and get it some airplay. It would be the business right there! Well maybe "I was dreaming when I wrote this." I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

BTW on the radio, you can't tell what colour the person singing is, unless you know the who the person singing is.
All those people who hear a song and go "hmmm that's a black artist, I do/don't like that", I think they might be a bit thick and a little bit racist?
