The closest I've been is on the 3rd row of the Musicology concert. He sure is pretty in person. Better than any picture.

I don't know if religion had anything to do with it-maybe as he got older he sorta came out of his shell alittle. I remember hearing about how he never use to talk or give interviews Maybe he's changed for the better. Gotta give Larry alittle credit

Well, I wasn't going to AGAIN.. But he stared into my eyes for around 10!! seconds at Indigo2 in the middle of Anotherlover... guitar solo I was a 2 or 3 yards away from him, I know it's sad but I know the timing exactly because I've got the bootleg of the show, I know when he caught my eye and when he looked away.... it was the longest staring into someone's eyes that you don't actually know that I've ever encountered. But there was no way I was looking away first! It felt like a lifetime!! He has lovely eyes, very wise and like he can see right through you / read your mind...! I think he was trying to tell me something... Well, I know it's not meeting him, but we shared a 'moment' you know? Better than nothing. Made me very happy anyway
Love the other stories... much better than mine. Rorywan SPILL! Oh yeah, and I spoke to him on the phone too .. [Edited 8/23/09 14:21pm]

Apparently he used to walk through the adjoining bar to Indigo2 as well, saying "Hi" to people on the way... this is while I was standing outside in a queue when I COULD have just as easily been waiting in the bar ...but I didn't know that then... grrrr...

I gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder, as he trotted past me, in Paisley Park back in 2002.
He was on his way to the stage, the third/funk night, and I was right next to him as he made his way through the crowd. AMAZING night! My mates said my expression was exactly like this ----> And during Anotherloverholenyohead at the last O2 Aftershow, like Jeffiner, P and I stared into each other's eyes for a few moments. Ridiculous as this sounds , I'm quite used to people being intimidated by MY eye contact sometimes (even when I'm not doing anything )... however, he REALLY knows how to intimidate. I went from singing along, mindlessly, to a song I'd heard 1000 times to being open-mouthed, forgetting the words and having to turn my head, totally embarrassed. Surreal. And Jeffiner... tell us about the phone conversation.

I was at the 3121 jazz bar watching Prince play and having a few drinks. As the night continued and the drinks flowed, I worked up the nerve to approach Prince. He started to walk towards the door to leave the room, so I walked right up and put my hand on his shoulder. I was just about to say great show when a large bodyguard man pushed me and told me not to touch Prince. I felt so dumb, and I don't think Prince ever looked my way Oh well, I stood right next to him and touched him

I refused to turn my head away though, I think he KEPT expecting me to, but I just thought "No way am I looking away" It really wasn't easy though ... He does have an intimidating stare... but I did do the forgetting the words thing and go into a bit of a trance..

I attended a party once & he was there but couldn't get anywhere in his vicinity (which is probably good)... too many people who weren't his fam were surrounding him. Not to mention the security he had surrounding.
I have a good friend who moved to MPLS. He actually met P face to face. He said Prince was an ass because he wouldn't shake his hand. He said "I walked up to Prince and stuck my hand out to shake and P just totally dissed him."

i've had a few upclose moments.
1. Chatting to him backstage with a around 12 people from the NPGMC - talking for about an hour. (Sydney, Australia) 2. Standing right next to him on stage for a 20 minute jam encore after the whole ONSTAGE XPERIENCE in front of around 12,000. (Sydney, Australia) 3. Standing within touching distance to him two nights in a row at the 3121 aftershows in Vegas. Swa "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

She handed her rose to a bodyguard who threw it into the garbage. Her stories keep changing.. [Edited 8/23/09 20:27pm]
