The other encounter was at Terence Trent Darby's show at First Avenue. Prince was there and had sort of blocked the stairwell to the bathroom so he could watch the show in private. I think I caught him by surprise as he wasn't expecting anyone to come through (hey, I had been drinking heavily and had to go...) He just had this funny look on his face like "scared of you...." a slight smirk..I didn't sense any anger or anything, which sort of surprised me given his rep. I walked right past and up into the bathroom I went. I just remember lovin' the undivided attention, if only for a second. lol

I've heard a ton of stories about him over the years and some are good. He messed up the head of a girl I went to school with (and by that I mean, he turned her out!!! wow! lol) But I don't hold that against him. If you want to dance the dance, you gotta pay the band.

She wasn't really a friend. I just remember her from school and she was very shy and innocent. Well, let's just say she didn't remain that way after "dating" Prince. And after he up and married Mayte, I heard she spiraled out of control.(Nona Gaye was not the only girl surprised by that wedding lol). That's all I'll say.

he decided to go upstairs to the balcony-so he left the stage-next minute-everyone was looking my way-and there he was-right next to me-STILL PLAYING GUITAR

he stayed there for about 30 seconds-i gave him a thunbs up-he had a huge grin on his face-then he went over to the door-and went upstairs

before that-one night outside Wemble Arena during Nude-we were outside before the end-and at the back-his BMW was waiting with open door as the show ended-we could hear the crowd-then there he was with a towel round his neck-we shouted hi and he waved-and nearly flattened us as he JUST avoided the leaving crowd through red lights and all-and i remember the floor of the car had white furry carpet

I haven't, but my friend "theorgangrinder7" sang on stage with Prince at an aftershow in Buffalo during the ONA tour. Maybe if he checks this thread he can give more details.

Okay, I have posted about my experience before, but I never get tired of telling to whoever wants to listen (or in this case read). I was at the after party at 3121 in Las Vegas. Great seat at one of the tables at the front next to where the band was set up. It took me a little while to realize I was sitting next to Paul Shaffer (from Letterman). Anyway, while the band was jamming away and we were waiting for Prince to come out everyone was up and dancing. Next thing I knew I heard HIS voice and turned my head to see I was standing shoulder to shoulder with Prince. (well sorta', I'm taller than him). Anyway, he was talking to the guy with the blond ponytail that always takes his guitars at the end of shows. I was speechless. I almost touched his elbow to get his attention to say hello but totally chickened out. So, the after party was amazing. It lasted almost 3 hours! When he was finished playing he was standing literally 5 feet away from me, humbly taking in the applause from the small crowd. I was looking straight in his eyes and couldn't even think of the most obvious things that would be appropriate to say...hello, great show, thanks...nothing!! And then he was gone...The moral of the story is always go to a concert with a plan. In case you get the opportunity at least know that you are going to say hello and thanks for the great show...hey it's a conversation starter and better than nothing!

My two are kind of lame..backstage at the Lovesexy tour in Philly..my arm was in a sling at the time and Shiela showed me some love..Prince walked passed and smirked.Backstage at the musicology tour in the meadowland he said "what's up" to me...I know,kinda lame,but that's all I got

Some friends and I got to talk to Prince at the first show in Vegas in 2006. He was very nice.
