Is Prince creating more demand for live shows? Seems like by just playing wherever and whenever he wants, he creates more demand for his live shows.
Meanwhile bands with record labels are playing night after night just to scrape by. He must be really happy right about now.

Well, this was enevitable really. As prince gets older, live shows will become more and more spradic. A concert here, a concert there. But i kinda like that, never knowing where the npg will turn up next!

Prince is at the very pinnacle of live performance, a true artist and musician.
It's interesting to note that most in the music biz and artists alike are realising that's where the real money is. The album now seems to be a gateway to the performance and not the other way round. This is a good thing if you ask me.

I guess I just wonder if he is not touring on purpose - in order to create more demand for the few shows he does play. Remaining mysterious. Or maybe he fears doing another Musicology type tour where he did not sell out every night.

He's always in demand, regardless.

I agree. He cleans up on tour regardless, though...It's interesting to note that most in the music biz and artists alike are realising that's where the real money is.
