I always dug it. It's always reminded me of The New York Dolls "Vietnamese Baby".
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

What exactly do you get scared of PurpleDiamond2009? If you see it in the early Eighties context (politically) I think it was a very strong society statement from Prince in a song. Something which he has not done very often.

And see... Ronnie Reagan talked to Michail Gorbatsjov several years later... and they, like smoked - No not Puff The Dragon - the Peace Pipe:

I think it's supposed to

the interluded between Private Joy & this song is beautifully horrific
The subject matter is scary, I still remember the world news at that time that inspired this song, and nuclear war seemed inevitable then

Prince should incorporate the New Wave again, leave all threads of rap/hip hop alone, because New Wave seems to set him apart, this song was perfect for the genre, same with Tick Tick Bang

I view it in a 'nostalgic, period piece' kinda way.

If I took it seriously for a millisecond..... ill

Moderators have final say.
prince.org administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit, relocate and/or remove any message, at any time, for any reason. Consider all editing decisions final. If you don't agree with a decision, you may discuss it with the moderator who made the judgment in private. If you cannot reach resolution with the Moderator in private, contact the site administrator via e-mail (ben@prince.org), explaining the entire situation, with all relevant links/excerpts/emails, etc. Under no circumstance attempt to start a 'debate' about specific moderation decisions in a public forum. -Mars23
