Grafitti Bridge - The Film

Just saw it for the first time. What a strange film. I understand that Prince Directed the film and wrote it too? What do you all think of it? What do you think of him as an actor? The performance parts rocked and I think he's a pretty good actor. He is no joke as a dancer. I think he should do another film as the "kid" again!! biggrin

it was cool....his acting is oddly captivating 2 me caus I can relate 2 his
charicter as the kid...

I read somewhere that Prince presented a 24 page script to warner bros film division.

the company liked it and told Prince that they were going to hire a few screen writers to work on the hardly there 24 page script.

Prince was like "no" my script is all we need...lol
cant allways believe what u read though...

my daddy always told me this "it's round the jolly corner", and I pass it by a "sign" nearly everyday, for me it was we are nearly home. It's funny how memories that for some reason stick in my mind as a child, or to some could easily be forgotten. It may mean something else for you. but for me it's "home"

To me, just around the corner means something spiritual. Im guessing it means to stay positive and all will work out if God is in ur heart. Im guessing thats wat Prince was saying. ... it worked out in the movie right? he won the battle! and he sure could rap 2! y did he change his hair color? and why was his name B- Rabbit? oh wait thats 8-Mile.

I didn't really like the movie. To me, it just seemed like a sequel that shouldn't have been made, sort of like Caddyshack 2.

For me, Prince's movies and soundtracks regressed. Purple Rain was a great movie with an amazing soundtrack. Under the Cherry Moon was a watchable movie with a great soundtrack. Graffiti Bridge was a lame movie with a decent soundtrack.

Don't likes it.
Regarding Under the Cherry Moon, Prince said he learned that "he can't direct what he didn't write". Grafitti Bridge exploded that. It was contrieved, boring, unfocused, and more often than not just dumb.

That said, I still bought the DVD and the digital version off itunes... "just because it's Prince".

("buries head in sand" emoticon).
