Pictures of Prince obviously are supremely important to him, but I don't give a doo-doo about that kind of idolatry. The CD on the other hand was a big disappointment. Really the only reason I bought the book (pre-ordered at about $30) was for Indigo Nights. It's so lacking in excitement and spontaneity.
co-sign. i leafed through the book just about once and got bored with it before i was even half way through. it's so bland and contrived. urgh. there are about 3 or 4 very cool shots but those only highlight how horrible and photoshopped the rest of the book is. to be fair, i only got it for the cd so i shouldn't complain about the photo content. but that disc is another luke warm affair. out of everything he played at the indigo, he chose this slow slow slooooow content. much like It Ain't Over it is supposed to be a representation of a true aftershow experience. yet imo it is anything but that. why can't he just put 1 decent aftershow on a disc. the rock show now that would have been one of his better releases if he'd gone with that. instead it's covers, guests and very slow noodling. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
