Listen, I like the Original version with the cursing and I think when he used to do the Birthday shows in Miami well those were Killer. I Really Miss his Birthday Celebrations. We used to travel to Minneapolis and Miami to see him and it was Such Fun! He always put on Killer shows. As he still Does. The Adrenaline Rush I feel is so Amazing. Like ,I Always said I Never thought any Man could make me so Damn Hot and Excited,but Prince just Knows. He just Knows and he is Fantastic. There will Never be another Prince and he will Always be My Fantasy Man! | |

There is a version on video where Prince shaves Morris Hayes' hair off.I think that was in Miami on his bday...were you at that show? i have a version of this where mayte brings out a cake with one candle for his first bday as the artist formerly known as prince. maybe you were there... | |

What I loved about this song, and guess I still do, is that he always plays around with the beat, the tempo etc. The first year he played that song live, I must have heard like five different versions and all of them rocked.
Shall we force the man never to release a studio album and only release live recordings? All in favor say AYE... | |

the best version comes from the era when he still used to sing four letter words, that's for sure.
I think every version has its unique fonk, but let me think... Ah, its to hard to decide... What about the Emporium shows in '95? Or Paradiso '95. Maybe even Stars & Bars. Dunno. Even Montreal 2002 could be good (without overdubs!). Anyway I think that is one of the strongest, fonkiest songs he's ever made.       | |

Yes,I was there at that show. It was great. I was in Minneapolis when Prince first changed his name. He had a birthday party with a cake and everybody was signing a card and the tables at the original Glam Slam. We thought he would Perform because that was what he used to do,but he didn't. I found out later on the Minneapolis t.v. that he changed his name. Then the following year I was in Miami and then the next also,but then they closed Down. I Miss that Birthday tradition he had as do alot of fans. Suffice to say he may get Bored and think us Foolish and all and want to change directions but his fans really like the Old Traditions with the Shows and all. Nobody is saying he has to get Stuck in a Time-Warp or Something. The best thing was the Celebration with every day being Different and Fun and just if he could play like everytime when I don't have my Period like Vegas well I can dance and have a good time and not Feel sick and weak and I can Dance. This would be the Greatest thing. I hate having my Period almost every time he performs and you gotta stand all that time and all. I don't think Men Know how Horrible it really is and you feel So Sick. So if I have one wish on when to Party with Prince I hope it's when I'm Period free cause that is no Fun. The Celebration I couldn't Swim or Dance or do anything cause I felt Sick and it was Soo Hot also. I wanted to but alas it was...The Curse! | |

I prefer the original studio version of this song.I think it's a shame that it didn't appear on 'The Gold Experience' CD.It's one of his most convincing rap songs ever.
I also think "Days Of Wild" should have been the title of the album.Can you imagine the "Days Of Wild World Tour 94"? | |

I think every version is quite good, but I tend to prefer any version that has the "ahaa-ha" and "hold on to your wigs!" loop in it.

I've heard several verision, but the only one I can actually remember is the CB version.
Even, my kids like that one. (Yes 4 letter words included) THey didn't like the Montreal version at all. That song is too funky. I wish you could see me in my car when this song is on . **************************************************

I don't like it that much, never did. I've heard it a million times since 1995 and it's just too damn long!
Not be bitching, but we are rating this song on this post right? So I'll give it a 7 on a 1 to 10 scale. It's ok, but it's too long and too boring to be funky. And the hornsection? The melody sounds like a european house tune. Same as Xenophobia, although I like that song better because there are a lot of (band-)solo's in there. No, for the real funk you should listen to 1+1+1=3 (live ofcourse), Emancipation or Pass The Peas. | |
