Yes I would...I would like 2 see the "Rainbow Children," as a movie. Having that happen would take a lot of planning and direction on Prince's part. I do not know all of the people capable to bring a movie into being. The movie could illuminate what the record already says..."The People Want...The Everlasting...NOW!" Where would Love at it's highest be without music? Love without music just could not be whole. I appreciate musicians. cool

I want to see him in a Tim Burton movie. He'd be the perfect director for him. I heard him say on one of his commentary tracks that he likes to cast actors who have a silent film star quality about them. I've always felt Prince has had that quality about him.

I think he should, but play someone outside of his own character. What I mean by that is not play a musician like he did in his other movies.

Great choice. I would throw my ticket in the hat for Tim Burton to direct as well. If I remember right I think Johnny Depp has worked with Tim Burton as well and Depp is a huge Prince fan and musician as well. Now what would the movie to talk about???

It would be nice to also have another Prince concert film but those tend to be straight dvd releases...

It could be a movie about a musician struggling for artistic freedom, fighting with his record company to own his own recordings and being able to release the music he wants. Done right it could be both drama, action and comedy.

Given what happened in the past he'd be perfect for the part. It would also expose how record companies operate.

two words

The Abominable Doctor Phibes

In the original Vincent Price played an undead 1920's Band Leader (complete with mechanical band) who seeks revenge on the surgical unit that accidentally killed his wife (who he is subsequently also turning into a zombie.

Prince could play, perform, there are some funny moments such as Prince eating out if a hole in the back of his neck, and elaborate murder scenes. Prince could be as weird as he wants.

I suggested this as well years ago that he should be in a remake of A Star is Born. He could be such an artist as he is, showing the nasty side of the bizz, fighting for rights, etc, aloof, brilliant but inaccessible and depressed eventually killing himself (or perhaps be murdered). He could address his artist concerns in movie format. Plus there would be performances.

I would like to see Prince in "The Matrix" or as Superman.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I would love to see Prince star in a movie indirectly

A movie set in 1985/86
Prince & the Revolution + the Family + Mazarati + Jill Jones + Sheila E
even the Time

set in Minneapolis
the immediate stars(s) would be people who live in Minneapolis and a part of the music scene, night time bars/clubs,
the ABOVE mentioned bands would be scene around town, have background and minor short speaking parts, they would be performing at different clubs and spots

we could see Prince & Sheila riding on his purple bike in the background, see Wendy & Susannah walking to a coffee shop, the 'stars' invited to an aftershow at Prince's house

Full of Purple People & Music but not the immediate stars

yes I would for one certainly I thought he did a real good job in PR his acting wasn't at all bad - my only critisism would be the kissing - a bit too sloppy for my liking but hopefully he has improved some with some practice.

yes! A TIM BURTON MOVIE WOULD BE GREAT!

The real problem is that there isn't a director out there- including Spike- who would take that chance, because the critics would destroy it before it hit theaters, no matter how good it was.

as an aspiring filmmaker I dream of getting enough clout 2 collaborate with him and bring that Dream Factory musical concept 2 the big screen... using the unreleased material as well as released (sorta like how they did ABBA in Mamma Mia!)

but realistically speaking, I want another Spike Lee collab

I think Spike is the only one who could still make a good film with Prince and still remain "independent" of Prince. Most artists who work with Prince seem to get a stigma that P has them wrapped around his finger.
This is, of course, why Spike would never do it. Prince would want to call the shots and I'd have yet another 'Graffiti Bridge' to buy in disguise at Best Buy.
"You buying this?", says the cashier.
"Uh...yeah, it's for my cousin", I say veering off to see who's watching me buy the worst movie set of all time.

So my answer is no, no more acting in movies, but a concert film would be great to see.

okay how's this: prince should play the part of an enchanted genie/ghost/pharoah/sheik trapped for a thousand years in an old persian rug/magic lamp/ancient artifact.

he is brought to life by a fortunate conjunction of the stars/a woman's kiss/ the first winsome notes of the ancient lyre of horace recently uncovered at a forgotten archeological dig/temple/lost city.

big grin

his character is ethereal but also earthy, visible only to some, he gets to play Pan/Loki and act as a kind of raunchy angel advisor/guide to ordinary people. set against the backdrop of part spoof of a reality TV show, part idyllic island retreat.

his mission is to recover the lyre/artifact/woman that awakened him from whoever has located it, so he can earn his freedom from the enchantment that binds him. which he does, landing the artifact/woman/lyre, goodwill of the people.
biggrin
