Lotus Flower Will Go Down...

Everytime I take this album for a spin on my purple pod, I ponder on the fact this could of been Prince's 20first century Purple Rain. I dont mean in the way it took the world over by storm, but just some recognition for the creation of such a fantastic album and possibly one of the best of his royal career.

The sad thing is that as a prince FAM we seem to get tired of material and move onto waiting for his new drop.....But with songs like welcome 2the lotus...Dreamer...$...Wall of barlin...Feel better feel good feel wonderful....and Colonized Mind how can we just let this pass us by with not fully appreciating its amazing track line up! IT's AMAZING eek

I honestly hope when He drops this album in europe he makes the charts drop to there knees in repect for good honest music!

I agree with your sentiments. He releases so much good stuff but we (fans in general) just want something else right away no matter how good the material is. Its been that way for eons but it's REALLY there now.

Imago

Even the bad tracks on lotusflow3r aren't really all that bad and certainly not enough to derail the album.

It's one of my favorite Prince albums already. I liked the entire package minus Bria's album, but even then, for 11 dollars, that's easy to ignore. lol

Great, great album.

I love Lotus too, even as a set it's pretty solid, to start with i was loving MPLSound but now it's a little meh! but i like Bria's more.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Gohi

One of the best albums I have heard from 2009, Prince or not. No bad tracks, great flow... the vibe of every song is just fantastic (by that I mean how 'live' it all sounds. Love the focus on guitar.

Honestly, the fact that he gave us two extra discs with it has made me a very satisfied Prince fan this year (even with the lotusdebacle).

It's a very good album.
Had Prince just released it on it's own, or as a double album with MPLSound and skipped the $77-website-that-has-done-nothing-in-months and the Bria I think it could've garnered a LOT more positive attention/recognition.

Both are fabulous albums. And there are several songs on Bria's album that I enjoy as well. But yes, Lotus is kick-ass! I still love the newer music. I am always excited about the next music set that P puts out, but I am in no way done with the new stuff. It is brilliant music. smile

I am still listening to this on a reg basis. I have not been a big fan of MPLSound, which to me sounds like a bunch of b-sides (xcept for Dance 4 Me and Chocolate Box)...and Elixer shouldn't have been included on this set. But that first disc is killer and my fave album since Gold Experience.

I've noticed the backlash against the albums has lessened and in some cases even turned. I've always liked all 3 CDs. Yeah I'm longing for the next project but this is a great package to vibe to until then.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

Lotusflow3r has been a go-to album for me this year. Always stirs up conversation amongst friends, even non-Prince fans. I love it for it's strengths as well as it's weaknesses.

I've been enjoying it since it came out. It hasn't blown me away, but that probably says more about me than the album. I seriously like Boom, $ and Colonized Mind.

I totally agree. I think Lotusflower is just brilliant- on par with 'Small Club' and 'The Rainbow Children'. (I also hope he does more live tv performances from the album like he did on Leno and Ellen, or even a full concert DVD).

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
