Old School Company versus DMSR Listening to 'Old School Company' the other day I sensed a similar vibe to DMSR - even down to the mentioning of underwear. The beat, length of the song and funky guitar make these two songs seem like long lost cousins. Anyone else feel this?

DMSR has no equal. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

You're feeling the withdrawls of listening to good music. Drop Lotus and go listen to 1999 again, front to back, 3 times in 3 days. You'll forget about cob web company. DMSR is on a plane all itself, and nothing has yet to touch it.

I feel it. Its a tough decision. Ol school is defo more hip but, DMSR is more classy and overall more funky...ahead of its time back then too so, i would say DMSR for those reasons. This Post is produced, arranged, composed and performed by WetDream

I don't like the MPLSound version of Old Skool Company much. The Tonight Show performance was much stronger. DMSR is an amazing song - one that I'm glad he kept for himself from that era!

well, well, well....
The battle of the heavyweights? DMSR will still be a club staple when my great grandchildren are shakin' they asses. It's not a song, it's a club anthem. Old School Company is just nasty funk...too nasty for the clubs. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Maybe I'm too old. I don't see it. The scratching at the end of the song is WACKKKKK!...Prince talking grillz, and shorties is also wackkkkk! Too bad - because the groove is otherwise something I could FEEL.

I like Old Skool Company, but I have to agree with most others in this thread. There's really no comparision between these two tracks. DMSR is classic.

Yeah, gonna have to agree with everybody else. Ol' Skool was a lot better live but still no where near DMSR "Prince doesn't have verbal diarrhea, he has studio diarrhea...." Allen Leeds

There is NO comparison. At all.

I like Old School Company but it's no DMSR:
Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

Sadly no contest. As good as OSC is it ain't a touch on DMSR.
