Alladin Dvd Question/Guitarist Question

[i]I was watching the Alladin dvd just now & on the bonus track "The Ride" at about the 5:28 mark Prince steps on a large box that resembles Boss's FS-5U Footswitch & it sounds as if he's changed to a different amplifier with different settings to it. Is this the case Orgers. Thanx in advance for any response as i'm very curious.

Just had a look there. It looks like a custom board sitting above the regular boss pedals but I can't make it out for sure. But I see nothing that resembles a Boss FS-5U.

Such a shame this was recorded on miniDV, the resolution is disappointing.

Your right, it's some type of footswitch board that would control his amplifier's if i'm not mistaken. I just would someone with the knowledge to confirm this.

I was wondering, what would be the purpose of the Roland FC-100 midi controller, i've heard the term "midi" umpteen times but never knew it's meaning in the recording process & also in the guitar process either. Could someone set this Orger straight!!!!!

MIDI, or Musical Instrument Digital Interface is a standardized digital control system for musical instruments. It's much like the Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface for computers, in that it allows similarly equipped devices to talk to each other. You would recognize the connector as the round plug with 5 prongs in a "C" shape that's on most keyboards since the 1980s.

MIDI allows a keyboard player to control several synths and drum triggers from one keyboard. It also allows a guitarist to switch between amp heads and rack mounted effects on the fly.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
