That's odd beaause Wendy & Lisa worked with him more recently. None of the others originals have to my knowledge. Anybody on here know otherwise?
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

On record, I don't think Matt, Mark, or Bobby have worked w/ Prince since 1987. Prince remixed a song for them as early as 1989. Of course he's sent songs to them to work on like "In This Bed I Scream" and others. Prince also gave a song to Brownmark. Prince had zero involvement with Bobby and Matt's albums.

Yeah, they're the bad apples. Not the douchebag who told them to stop being lesbians and heathens, and to have a press conference informing the world of that.

I think P has outgrown the Revolution. If he did something one time with them (like a live show for a charity) then that would be cool.

There were rumours on the org 10 years ago that "Roadhouse" would see the light of day. Still hasn't happened. But you never know.

I love it how AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PRINCE has now turned into "a rumor on the Org".

It was PRINCE who promised the release of RG. It was PRINCE who when asked why it wasn't happening told people to "ask Wendy & Lisa".

Stop making up excuses for the guy and start blaming him for things that are his fault.

Ummmmm excuse me Bart..But the 1st time I heard about "Roadhouse" it WASN'T from P, it was HERE on the org.

Not too long after that I saw the Kurt Loder MTV interview w/ P and Kurt asked him about it. And he really didn't say anything about it.

So I'm not making excuses for him. I could really care less if he releases it or not.

Prince needs a catalyst (or is one) to perform a bit extra. Musically creative people seem to trigger something in him to go the extra length and improve on their ideas (examples enough the last 25 years wit Neto being the last one for now).

I think W&L can trigger this again but maybe they indeed matured separate ways.
I doubt it wil be hard rocking. Fink and W&L don't show that route to much.

Check your facts. It wasn't a rumor, it was from Prince himself. He refused to pay for Wendy and Lisa's travel expenses or any other fees/costs/expenses to come to Minneapolis, put in the work to finish the album, and get it ready for release. THAT is why he later said, "Ask Wendy and Lisa" when questioned about the album being aborted.

You couldN'T care less. If you COULD care less, you would, right?

And it was from Prince. It wasn't just on the Org, it was in all the media. I read it in a magazine, and called two radio stations here about it and they put the word out too. It was on MTV as well, and NOT in the interview with Prince. Prince later shut his trap about it because he was trying to be funny or coy, when in fact he knew he had pissed on W&L, wanted them to work for free and God forbid own up to that.

And since you don't have P's ear, it's doubtful ANY of us heard it directly from Prince. It's not like you were hanging at out Paisley Park and missed a luncheon or something. Just because you heard it here on the Org doesn't mean that's the original source of the information.

See what I mean? Some of you think those chicks shit actually doesn't stink.

Anything past "it didn't happen and we don't know why" is he said/she said horseshit speculation.

Fees and cost to come to Minneapolis? What a bunch of garbage.

How bout I speculate that they wanted WAY more money than they were worth, consider the word PRINCE sells the whole fucking project, as they were trying to pull major advance checks and shares of the publishing, because TV and film scores are okay, but they ain't getting rich off it.

So yeah, ask THEM what happened.

Dearest Ernest..

Just because YOU heard it from P doesn't mean that I did. I read it HERE on the org first. And all this jazz about P not wanting to pay Wendy or
Lisa's plane fees is brand new news to me. I never heard that story.

Again I could really care less if P puts "Roadhouse" out or not. If he does, great. If he doesn't, it's not the end of the world. There's other artists to
listen to besides P. If the 3 of them can get together then fantastic. If not, then oh well...life goes on.

And I do (like many others on the org) read (and sometimes believe) what's said on the org. When "Crystal Ball" came out (and the media didn't say or print anything yet) I read it here first... P re-recording all of his LP's to own the masters?..read it here first... P getting ready to jam with Wendy And Lisa at the Brit awards?..read it here first.

And the story that gogol just posted, that's new news to me too. Ernest you're entitled to believe what you want.

Peace.

Well let's discuss the facts from W&L, and another Revolution member who was privy to the details, shall we? When someone is asked to come to another city to work on something, it's a courtesy and a usual business practice to pay for the person's hotel, cover some food costs, and certainly cover the air fare. They also need to be paid for the extra work they are doing. Prince offered ZERO of ANY of that. THAT is the truth. It's YOU who implies that W&L thinks their shit doesn't stink. Prince, W&L et al are professionals, but when you try to F someone out of a fair wage (which Prince has screamed about for how long now?), I wouldn't cross the street to do that, much less fly from LA to MPLS, set up shop and do the work FOR FREE. You'd an idiot if you think it's about anything more than what I stated. W&L both live great lives. They make good $$$ from scoring movies, TV shows, and whatever else they do. Their spouses work too and make a living. No one was asking for some exponential amount of money, but to be expected to work for free? Even you wouldn't do that.

So you said you COULD care less, so do you? Do you care a little bit then, since you COULD care less, but you don't? Or is it that you COULDN'T care less, meaning you don't give a flip one way or the other. Please clarify with English, please.

And just because you heard it on the Org first doesn't mean that's where it came from originally. Think about it, sunshine: 90% of the 'news' on the org is coming from ANOTHER SOURCE, whether it's Prince's camp or elsewhere. It has to originate somewhere, and the Org ain't it most times. The Org is a middle man, so keep it straight.

All that JAZZ you speak of, just because it didn't drip into your ears doesn't mean it ain't true. (PS Prince rerecording all of his albums? How about on HIS website, and from HIS lips on The View? Yeah, that's where it came from. You think someone on the Org makes shit up and then Prince adheres to it or something? WTF kind trip you on anyway?)

So, dear heart, think outside the box of the Org once in a while. I wasn't on the Org back then, and I sure heard all the stories you mentioned. Gee, I wonder where I heard those things? Oh...Prince's site, and news sources. IMAGINE THAT.

And W&L not working on Roadhouse Garden because Prince refused to pay them AT ALL (not just some plane ticket, so don't mash the truth into something that suits your rant) is the truth as it was told. Frankly, it's no big secret.

Bingo! There's a long string of people who Prince has never paid, musicians and otherwise. Remember when he wouldn't even pay for those fucking canes he used to carry around in the mid 90's (when he was always suckin' on a sucker?) That was in the news. In 1997 The Pioneer Press did a huge article (could've been the Tribune, but I think it was the Pioneer Press) on Purple Drain and how Prince was bleeding money left and right.

As late as 2001/2002 Prince was still hearing from people like Fink who said he was owed back monies. Didn't Levi and someone else (Miko?) sue him over money due???

It's really not a far fetched story that Prince wouldn't/doesn't pay people. He's a cheap little fucker.
