the quality of Lotus Flow3r and MPLSound

I am kind of new to posting on this forum. At least I havn't in a while but I just want to say after listening to Lotus Flow3r and MPLSound..those two albums as a whole. The quality of the sound, the production quality I can't say enough about it. This is some wonderfully produced music..

now after listening to MPLSound several times I have to say..I love it. I think it as a whole is one of the best Prince albums I've heard in a long time..I love the whole Minneapolos/classic style Prince sound that Prince has thrown down on that album..its awesome..reminds me of some of the Purple rain era stuff. I heard somewhere Prince has moved back recently to Minneapoles where it all started..maybe to go back to his roots and recapture that old sound..

whatever the reason..I think Prince is heading in the rite direction.

now as for Lotus Flow3r itself..their are some tracks that caught me through the first listen that I liked alot. but after listening to alot of MPLSound and some old Prince tunes and now going back and listening to Lotus Flow3r its a great fun, relaxing, easy going Prince album to listen too. its unique and Prince is experimenting a little bit like he likes to do..but I like it alot..and it stands out a little bit more with every listen..its a concept type of album..I like how each song flows into the next..what can I say Prince is great..the guy knows what he's doing. lol I can't wait to hear the next album.

the lotusflower disc is easily my fav prince album since the rainbow children.

there are a couple of phenomenal songs on mplsound but as an album it stinks,
imo. it doesn't flow well, it has some serious weak or lame tracks and some of
the most cheesy lyrics to date. if it weren't for songs like "dance 4 me" this
would be one of his worst records to date imo.

i still appreciate what he was going for, and for that concept alone, i can
listen to it all the way through. but it's not an album i consider one of my
personal fav prince cd's. not by a long shot.

now, lotusflower (forget about the stupid "3" spelling people, please) is one
of those albums i could listen to all day, any day.

love

As time passes I become more and more fond of lotusflow3r.

I think it's in my top favorite Prince albums now, edging out some of the 'greats that are often praised here.

I'd rather listen to lotusflow3r than Dirty Mind, Controversy or For You.

MPLSound is great fun once in a while. I do skip tracks on it alot though. But every so often I listen to it all the way through. I'd say it ranks up there in the albums he's released in the last 7 or 8 years, but wouldn't stand out amongst the whole of his career.

I've been saying the same thing... 'Lotusflow3r' stands right up 2 any Prince album ever. It's best listened 2 as a whole album, and loud... at home, through a good stereo.

i'm slowly getting back into it-though cuz of the recent shows-I've been listening to them and the 12 discs from 2002 celly at the park alot more than Lotus

blame the web site-for a while-i couldn't even say Prince without swearing first-let alone listen to him

it is a great release though-and i love Bria's album too

Yep, I couldn't agree more. Lotusflow3r is awesome, but when it comes to MPLSound, I tend to skip around as the middle seems kind of weak.
