WTF are those lyric changes in LRC?

It sounds like he says "Troning and some of them you"???

I also thought he said "Maybe your much too fast", but I could be wrong...
"We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

"That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"

He still says "Trojans and some of them used" and "Baby you're much too fast"
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

On the new video posted on LotusFlow3r, it didn't sound like he said "Trojans." I couldn't understand what he said, but it did sound like he was censoring himself again.

Which is what bugs me the most! If his beliefs prohibit him from saying certain things in certain songs, then why bother performing those songs at all?

And why get creative about singing about twat. He wouldn't sing those stupid Elixer songs in a hall but then claims this moral BS? Religion ruined Prince.

Not U. Everyone who saying he didn't say it but can't tell U what he said. That implies you don't know what he said or did not say. U asked a legit question and I think he said the original lyrics. "Trojans" isn't a curse word and neither is "baby".

Ok, I just listened again. It's at 0:59 on the copy I've got (wink) and he says something with an "i" in it. The line could possibly be "turning (or toning?) to some other hue" or he could just be making up nonsense, but I'm positive he doesn't say Trojan.
One of his best lines, that was (the original)...

Remember the anti-contraception lyrics from Props N Pounds...

"Listen to the words that will save every one
Safe sex campaign talking about a gun
With CON as the prefix, suffix be the DOM
(dumb)
Look at them both and tell me something
What's in the Trojan Horse? Lubrication.
Nothing goes in my woman except The Son"

don't quite understand it, but you get the idea he's against the use of TROJANS!

I heard what you're talking about...but I'm not sure it was an intentional change. Sometimes he just fluffs the lyrics. shrug

I think it was. The original poster wrote exactly what it sounds like. "Troning and some of the you." It doesn't sound like a flub. What a big coincidence he only flubs the lyric about used rubbers in a woman's pocket. But "troning" is just a nonsense word. What the hell else could he say there that sounds like "trojans"?

Prince always had "religion". This particular religion made his lyrics suck razz

I freaking HATE "The Christ" version of the Cross, totally totally killed it for me. I can't even listen to it.

Its weird I loved it when he did Lovesexy, Love is God, God is Love etc, and I will tell you why, cause he embraced both sides of his psyche, good and bad, spooky electric, Camille etc..he was playing Head and Sister and then he redeemed himself in the concert and showed his 'positivity'. That was always what I clicked with, with Prince, was the fact that he embraced both sides of himself and could be playful and also serious. The emotion that poured out of him at that time was something that was ABOVE religion. It was spiritual. Spiritual in the sense that he seemed respectful of each person's interpretation but he didn't deny any part of himself. I fear now by censoring himself and following his religion/church/bible (all man made) rather than following his heart, his spirit guide. I don't know this for a fact, its just my take on him these days. I don't think he is a tolerant or respectful of others anymore and for me, he seems more out of touch spiritually now than ever. Again, thats just my take.

Interesting take.... I agree with A LOT of this indeed.

FYI, the line is "Trojans and some of them used"... with reference to the "jockeys that were there before me" and "Pocket full of horses" lines, you could deduce that by default.
As far as the LF version, well who gives?!

I am here to take the mystery out of the word 'troning'

Tron+ing = To experience early 80's movie tron, the plot included having ones program stolen.

Prince doesn't need to formulate words, everyone is singing along anyways, one time I heard him sing, 'Fruity pebbles and some of them pre-chewed'.

Fact!
Love wins. (Seen on bumpersticker)

That's what I think. I heard the one from the 2nd show and it sounds like he sang all the lyrics on that one.

This. He just gets all ahead of himself and begins the end of the phrase the "ans" part too early, his brain probably tries to correct but then he sings the "and" part but it still came out wrong. Hence some of you have heard troning or tronan(s). It was a slightly new arrangement after all.

OR

He has a pathological hatred of Trojans due to some ancient war where they defeated the Persians or Moors or something.

Actually it probably is this second thing.
Just somewhere in the middle,

How does he dare change the lyrics of songs he wrote. Doesn´t he know some disturbingly fanatical fans have the right to determine what he does with his songs lol
