I think I listened to this CD a handful of times before I put it away and allowed it to begin collecting dust, but I dug it out recently, and I'm actually enjoying most of it.

I don't think it's as "average" as I once did. Or maybe it's the fact that it's been so long since I played it, it sounds like brand new Prince.

Whatever the reason... I suppose it's a good thing.

I'm still not a fan of Te Amo Corazon or Satisfied, or even Fury, but just about everything else is "decent".

And maybe Get on the Boat can "Get off the CD"... but I can't hate. Not a terrible CD.

I got it on vinyl recently.

Nice.

It's a decent album. A couple songs hit me like a feather to the uvula, but some good things are going on.

Satisfied - Nice
Fury - Plays better live ala Bambi, but still pretty cool
The Word - A wonderful piece of Paisley pop - standout cut
Beautiful, Loved and Blessed - Boring
The Dance - It's an OK track
Get On the Boat - Yuk

Starts off strong. I glaze over on the last two tracks, though if I put my Prince collection on shuffle and "The Dance" comes up in a different setting, I love it.

those are the ones i love a lot. i think the rest of the album is nice enough.
the only song i don't like at all is "the dance" because the first version of
that song is far superior. this one is so ott that it's hard to listen to imo.

Love - I wish it was live drums, it'd be SO much butter, but I love the words. Every single line is spot on for me about people in my life at the time. It was like one of my own blog entries or something.

Fury - Better live, agreed.
The Word - a bit preachy, but I can deal with it.
Beautiful Loved and Blessed - it's a bit predictable actually, but whatevs.
The Dance - HATED it on NPGMC, learned to love this version much much more

I love Lolita & Black Sweat . those are really the only ones i listen to.

3121 - Nice groove. Arguably the best song on the CD. Not a classic, but very good. Unique, and I dig the Camille voice.

Lolita - Average at best. Nothing special about it, but listenable. Hated it at first, but not terrible.

Te Amo Corazon - This is Prince preparing for his senior citizen gigs. Boring. Sounds more like a depressing Lionel Ritchie song.

Black Sweat - I dig it. It's cool. I wish he had given it to Justin Timberlake, and that the song/video was about Justin having sex with a black woman. The controversy would have been cool, and the song would have been a SMASH!!! Tell me I'm lyin'!!!

Incense and Candles - I dig this song. I like it. Stylish, sexy, one of my faves on the CD.

Love - The music is above average, but the lyrics aren't great to me. Typical current Prince by numbers.

Satisfied - Boring. Not a fan.

Fury - Next please.

The Word - Love it. The music rocks bigtime! Another of my faves on the CD, but it sounds like something is missing. Maybe I'm sick of all the religiosity... but it's a cool tune.

Beautiful, Beloved, and Blessed - If I'm not paying attention, I'll listed to it and catch myself accidentally bopping along. But I really don't like this song too much. Prince needs to either sing lead on his songs, or give his "protoges" their own CDs. I don't think there's been a single song where Prince has allowed a female to sing lead on one of his CDs that I've liked. MAYBE Melody Cool... but even that was "okay". And please don't start with "Walk, Don't Walk" with Rosie. Cool tune, but that song should have just been given to Sesame Street... or the Muppets.

The Dance - Dark and ominous. Love it!!!

Get on the Boat - No thanks, I'd rather get off. (no pun intended)

I love this cd. I remember waking up and it was a rainy day and I thought it was gonna be another boring. I got online and I find out that the new album had leaked and I downloaded it,there went my day i was hooked. I actually read comments that people didnt download cuz they so called RESPECT prince. I downloaded it anyway cuz when the cd officially came out i went and bought just for my collection and the nice artworj. I love everysong except Satisfied.
