Prince does not seem to care for Harmonica

I was listening to the "Ultimate Prince" cd and the extended version of "Raspberry Beret" has harmonica at the end of it. For the life of me I really can't recall any other of his songs that feature HARMONICA. Any thoughts? biggrin

A few.

It's featured in Baby Knows from Rave Un2 the Joy fantastic.

It's also all over 'Thieves In the Temple' where Prince plays up the Harmonica part in the video.

Prince doesn't play the harmonica on either Baby Knows (Sheryl Crow) or Thieves In The Temple (sample used of Chambers Brothers song)

Sorry, what I meant is by he 'plays up' is the little 'air harmonica' that he does in the video during the part that it is featured. nod

What other songs does harmonica appear in?

I hope Yonnet never comes back. He's skilled but I don't think he worked with Prince's music at all.

yeah but neither has josh or cora or shelby or... etc...

princes ACTUAL band is the cora/josh/mr hayes/yonnet/shelby line up. only he hasnt used them since march. On the other hand, the concert he has done since then is the jazz one with the ONA line up.

Prince's actual band WAS that lineup. It's starting to look more and more likely that he's moved on, no?

prince doesn't need the blues traveller sound in his music. it sounds like he's playing at a barbecue in the park or something.

Stevie and Sly were the funkiest harp players around. Oh yeah and Lee Oskar (War) too.

Yeah that dude that P has with him now can blow, but it gets a little tired after a while. Like the others, soon he'll be gone too.

The Extended 12" of Paisley Park has Prince playing Harmonica.
