Well i believe its the same case as In a large room. The song was just updated a little bit. Thats just What Ive heard. I havent heard the original but I love the one on Rainbow Children

Could be, although GiE from '86 has been described as a ballad. Interesting that you bring up In a Large Room. I think Everywhere is somewhat similar - the latin rhythms and the energetic horns and background vocals.

I brought up large room as an example of songs from the 80s that prince remade or changed slightly. Hes re recored empty room a few times. The version of Old friends on the official cd is a 90s version. And if u have heard the Versache recording he did a few years ago, You would know that he re recorded Kiss, Black sweat and Shhh with different lyrics.
