Prince + Minneapolis = Music ??

I'm pretty sure this has probably already discussed (I've been off the site for awhile, due to Facebook addiction)

..Anyway.. Does anyone else think that if Prince has truly moved back to Minneapolis, this will bring about a welcome change in his music, due to some hometown inspiration?

i think he needs real inspiration, not just from his hometown but particularly from a muse. it aint bria, thats for sure because the music isnt good like it used to be with say... mayte? maybe thats why he is going to one of the most secluded and desolate places near italy. the population is very low. perhaps he will find a REAL muse and bring the good music back.

Wow different strokes. This decade he's given us plenty of fantastic music at least imo. Lotus Flow3r both go in my top 15 maybe even 10.

His life is boring, ergo his music is boring. What does he do that's so exciting? He's always had something big going on in his life, whether it's a relationship, a great band, or whatever. But now he's at the Kingdom Hall all the time, or up Graham's butt, and the whole mojo vibe is gone w/ him. His music has totally reflected that.

The album(s) were good..just not promoted enough as usual. There was at least some type of mood to both albums.

I predict that his next album will be a great one! Sometimes you need to go home to remember and reflect upon past and present. Those things bring inspiration too. LA is draining. He deserves a vacation from all the leeches in LA that sucked him dry, look how thin he is! lol He needs to stay home for awhile and get well and just enjoy the quiet in the midwest. Fall is coming quick and the leaves turn beautiful colors which always inspire me to write poems and to just close my eyes, feel the wind on my face, and just listen to the sounds of nature cloud9

I don't know...I'm a Snowbird myself, living in the South. Although I had some minor injuries to all of my joints, the humidity in the Summer is worse to be outdoors than the humidity in Winter, for me. Coincindentally, my neighbor whom I care for once a week, a 67 year old man, I mostly drive for him, broke his hip and had a replacement yesterday...We'll see how it goes.

Anywhere that has Spring and Fall, I feel is the best on the bones and the joints. cool

I think spending time back in his hometown will be refreshing and that will carry over to the music. He didn't really fit in out in Los Angeles. he just seemed to host a bunch of after parties at his rented home and not much else. i think some time holed up in Paisley Park will do him some good. As far as needing a muse maybe since Susannah is recording again they could hang out and reminisce. she got the best music out of him in a lot of orgers opinions.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

You guys he's gone to MPLS plenty of times over the past few years. Much of the last couple of albums were recorded there.

Couldn't agree with you more Ernest. Though at least he's not trying to off himself and all that drama. What's good for Prince the man may not be good at all for Prince the artist. No more new albums, just release the vault material and tour every few years if you need the bucks.

Prince needs inspiration, some real friends and a coupleof NO men/women to set him straight.

he's boring now because he won't let anyone into his life who is honest with him about what he's doing. he's also screwing himself over creatively, and in his relationships with other people, which affects not only his reputation but his art, emotional growth and over all vibe.

He needs time to have his surgery, recover from it without pressure and embrace the fact that he's human. Then he needs to go sit down at his piano at the Park and write another album that actually matters- one about his sorrow around his Father passing, another good one or two about the human condition, getting older and coming to terms with that, his boredom, his ego and spiritual struggles.

Dude, your audience needs you to be real with them. stop cranking out the schlock you think people want to hear, imitating other artists and just freaking be yourself.... PLEASE.

take care of yourself, take time to get inside your head and heart. you don't have to worry about being lonely or what you'll find, everything you need is inside if you'll stop distracting yourself with women, touring, playing the part. take off the make up and look in the mirror and make today a truly important, new day.

Also, please pay the people who are struggling now who have helped you out over the years all the money/back royalties you owe them. you may feel it a hassle, but you'll win back some respect, instead of people talking about you behind your back.

You don't have to make music with anyone you don't want to again, but at least show some consideration, honor and respect for those that helped you get where you were lucky enough to get to.
