sign o the times main shows are always awesome to listen to and the few aftershows were damn good also. not crazy about the lovesexy main shows, but the aftershows are some of my favorite . can't go wrong with that band either way life's a bitch, but god forbid the bitch divorce me...

Lovesexy. I never saw SOTT in person, so perhaps I'm biased unfairly, but there will always and forever be a special place in my heart for the Lovesexy tour.
On a more unbiased level, I would offer these reasons for Lovesexy excelling: *It was in the round. *It had a more fun and playful setting (the basketball hoop was a nice touch). *Roy Bennett's lighting work was amazing on Lovesexy and deserves much praise. *I love the live version of I Wish U Heaven and Alphabet St., which of course weren't in SOTT. *I love the song SOTT but have never really felt it live. The Lovesexy intro, with the theatrics of the car coming in, the rivalry between Cat and Sheila, the threeway sex-style dancing (with Prince in the middle), and the gangster gunning are all more fun to me than SOTT. *There are probably more reasons, but that's what I thought of off the top of my head.

They were both the best tours for me. Lovesexy is my favorite album, so I'm going with the Lovesexy tour. TRUE BLUE

I like Sign of the times tour better than lovesexy. I guess bcuz of the setlist and band. lovesexy had 2 many hits and songs being performed. S0TT focused on that album and a few hit songs.

Same band, and the Lovsexy show usually ran about 1/2 hour longer than the SOTT shows (room for more songs). TRUE BLUE

SOTT; all the songs were played completely, no medleys. Lovesexy was just way overproduced and slick. No fun at all actually.
If you like these tours, try hunting down soms ONA show, I still think this was his best tour ever...

Difficult. I was at a Lovesexy show, and it was the best show I ever saw by anyone. He cancelled my SOTT show, so have to go on the movie and boots.
Still, can't choose. Lovesexy was a great cocept show and at the same time a live overview of much of his earlier material (in the first half). SOTT was a great showcase for a great album. I'd have go back in time to '87 to really choose, so I' sit on the fence for now.

One thing about Prince, before I can really enjoy the 'era' it changes, changes too soon. I love the clothing for the SOTT tour/era much better than the Lovesexy, but I loved the Lovesexy look too
I love the SOTT stage set up much better than the Lovesexy tour one of the band members said at times the LS setup was too disconnected as far as the band was concerned But I did like the wide playful set up of the Lovesexy show I prefer the SOTT because what became the Lovesexy tour should have been the Black album shows the SOTT shows had full length songs vs too many medleys and musical interludes of the Lovesexy tour, I really loved the LS Aftershows better It's really hard because SOTT is a bittersweet show/era for me I appreciate the Lovesexy expression of songs like Sister, I Wanna Be Your Lover, Erotic City(I was just listenting to the Atlanta show last night...something about when the keys come in)

SOTT.
Lovesexy: the positive was also the negative point: the stage. It was a great stage-setup, in the round, but it was difficult to follow what was happening when you were in the lower seats, the sound was bad, the technologie wasn't then what it is now, and a stage in the middle of a big hall isn't easy to get good sound. the band members and prince had to move so much, so that everybody saw something interesting now and then, that it left no room for improvisation. SOTT was a great stage, focus, great songs, well played, good sound, but parade was even more fun!

SOTT was a great stage, focus, great songs, well played, good sound, but parade was even more fun! Good points one thing I loved about the Parade tour as well and similar to the Purple Rain tour and 1999 tour was the constant intermingling of Prince & the Revolution and proteges a fellow member and I were talking about/watching A Love Bizarre video/performance... that was Uptown at it's best, I mean it was Prince the Revolution, Sheila E and band Eric Leeds Jerome and they just jammed and did their moves and were in costume just a hot show That's just one thing SOTT missed out on, Even thought Madhouse was the opening act sometimes and Jill Jones released her album All the proteges were now in his band lol Sheila E would have generally been promoting her album and mingling with Prince's band(which stunk that such a good album didn't go further) Too bad Jill Jones wasn't apart of the show

Lovesexy .... this is surely the very best concert ever done by a human , and that I've ever seen of him. He was at his absolute peak during that period, a music god, a young black mozart, he looked freakin' awesome, he had it all and he could do anything! Geez I was still such a triple x hardcore fan then. Forever changed
