This whole 25th anniversary thing is starting to peeve me actually, it seems everyone is in on it except the person who matters most.

I guess we should be thankful that this isn't a repeat of 1999, and there's no Purple Rain: The New Master, but still it seems so unjust.

Actually I think it's cooler and a better statement to have the fans (who happen to have their own bands, in this case) acknowledge the importance of the music. Prince is concentrating on the future, he doesn't have to look back if he doesn't feel like it.

i understand what ur saying but when there wasn't a 20th anniversary 2 sign o the times (better album imo) ..u know who ur dealing with..

the whole 1999 thing was P just pissed that warner bros was trying 2 capitalize on that song without prince owning the masters
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Let's see what his latest actions are:
- re-recorded track from the mid-1980s
- played Peach, When you were mine, Little red corvette, She spoke to me, ... during his Montreux gig

Apparently, a lot of the future is situated in the 1980s and 1990s.

There is nothing wrong with playing old songs (with new arrangements) but to just cash in with cheesy nostalgia for all that is Purple Rain is not his style. He could have made a bundle of $ by milking PR for all it's worth with a reunion tour. I vote no.

Who said anything about a reunion tour?

All I'm hankering for is a remaster, preferably 2CD with 12" mixes, b-sides and out-takes.

I def could go for that. Remasters of SOTT, Parade, 1999, Dirty are all long overdue. Can anyone predict how this may happen from a business perspective?

I'm not too impressed with the Incubus cover of Let's Go Crazy, but maybe they'll surprise me with their live rendition. I'll be watching. Thanks for posting this Bart.

Well, it was pretty good. Never heard Let's Go Crazy with a tuba before. lol Prince truncates it in concert and never plays the song with any feeling anymore, so it was nice to hear a complete live version played with such enthusiasm.

Well, it's not gonna be available online:

http://twitter.com/questl...3118807346

Don't forget the collabo song w/ the Roots & Incubus is a ONE TIME ONLY showing. No hulu/reruns/YouTube.@latenightjimmya

about 4 hours ago from TweetDeck

?uestlove - Questo of The Roots

Here's the reason why it's one time only:

http://twitter.com/questl...3119732433

prince, the beatles, & 4 others are impossibly high publishing chargers. so thus nbc will pay for a 1 time showing . reruns? another song.

So hey, thanks prince.org mods for not making this a sticky for a day or so, or announcing it on the homepage, or sending it out on Twitter.

@clark_photo try as they may: warner music has banned their music on youtube and has done a good job to stop it. and prince has banned him 2

I'm not a big Incubus fan either, but I thought they(along with The Roots) did about as good a job as anyone ever has with it. Much better live.

Prince is probably pissed and on the phone with his lawyer, though he can't sue anyone over this. BTW The Roots and Jimmy Fallon kill Conan's Tonight Show every night.

I still have hope for Fallon - he really can be a funny guy, but his monologue and interviews are, in my opinion very uncomfortable. The skits are horrendous, but 7th Floor West is quite clever.

I love Conan, but have found myself gong back to Letterman.

By the way, why is Carson Daly still on the air?
