So is that Bobby actually on the drums?  I always wonder what songs he is actually playing on. This is a great song but one of the few that SHOULD be a B side. While I love the song, I don't know what album it would have worked on.It's not Bobby playing, it's Prince. There was a thread about this before that I found [/url]http://prince.org/msg/7/314716 [/url] and BG confirmed it was Prince that played everything on the track. I love this track, and it actually was a hit on a Billboard chart; it reached number 5 on the Billboard Christmas Singles chart in December of 1984. Unlike most other Christmas singles that chart year after year, it never appeared again after '84. |

They do it with Wham! too. Just cuz a song has the word Christmas in the title it doesn't make them Holiday Music. Yes, it does (from a programmers point of view anyway). I'm speaking for my taste and not talking on technicality. I'm saying generally (for the most part) there's a certain sound and/or feel to the Holiday Music genre. "Another Lonely Christmas" doesn't much fit that category. Holiday music is the one genres where I'm perfectly happy with lack of change. So many modern holiday albums fail miserably (again, for my taste) in their attempts to make it a "current" genre. | |
