more important: how can we explain this sudden interest in an album he has stopped supporting?

Seems like a few import shops from overseas have ordered a few copies. No big deal.

If you want realism than go to the topic about payola and how unless P pays up the same money big record labels do he will not be getting any airplay.

Airplay helps the sale of CDs. No airplay less sales of CDs. That is reality my friend and to turn a blind eye to the facts is foolish.

What are you talking about ? I just gave a possible explanation why the record re-enterd the top 200. That's all.

And I'm not your friend.

I wonder if it's also the same deal as Emancipation where 1 CD sold counts as 3 because it's 3 discs.

Good point. Not to mention, Clear Channel and it's monopoly and control of radio playlists.

To sell 400,000 copies (without a tour) as an independent artist in today's miserable music business is still quite a feat. I still believe P does not do enough to market himself in alternative markets (college, alternative urban, gay) to maximize his sales potential.

There is always a spike in Prince's album sales when he does live show or TV appearance.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

What position is the album at?

Did he have a repeat of a TV appearance or something in the last couple weeks?

The Tavis shows re-ran last week.

I think theres so negative responses but its very true. All the hardcore fans are not going to mess about getting copies of each new album as it drops, and thats why he struggles after 6 weeks or so, by then your down to the casual record buyer and the album(s) have gone from Stickies on the org to the usual "Whats ur favourite album of the 2000's? or the "Was it better than the last one threads and in (Rare cases) was it better than Purple Rain".
My guess is the albums have done their dash, I am sure the 10 copies bought into New Zealand are all beginning to collect dust in the racks next to unsold copies of gems like the Rainbow Children and Emancipation.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Co-Sign if he got off his ass and promoted it more it would do even better but my guess is he does not care or maybe his health is not good.
The one thing we don't want P to do is burn out like MJ.
If he sold enought copies to be statisfied than so be it.
