Favorite versions of the songs you like Ok on which tour Prince played the best version of
the song you like. My pick would be Sing of the Times 2004 Musicology tour . the way he updated the song combing it with jazz elements made he song mature and fresh.O r Little red Corvette from the same tour. i Never though Prince would do a stripped down acoustic version of this hit song. whats your pick?

My favorite versions of all songs are from the orginal tours for the album they were on, escpecially Let's Go Crazy and Kiss. I hated those versions in the 90s. TRUE BLUE

DMSR from Small Club is uber cool. Not better than the LP version, just different.
Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic from Small Club just kills the studio version. Forever In My Life from the Sign O The Times film is incredible. Family Name from the 2001 Celebration rocked like a mutha. Anytime Peach or Bambi are played live, it's historic. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

DMSR from the First Avenue 8/3/93 show with the MJ impersonation is great
Life o'the Party was a much better song/jam live in the Musicology show compared to the cd Forever in my Life, as said abive from SOTT live, maybe the 3/21/87 performance is even better The Ladder. although, AFAIK, never performed during an official concert, the rehearsal versions (BOTH Lovesexy and ONA) are great ALL The ONA versions of the songs performed were great.

Peach with the instrumental coda that became the song Chaos and Disorder (the Sacrifice of Victor-video) - so raw and rockin', a mixture of Hendrix and Iggy Pop.
I could never take the place of your man from the Sign of the Times movie (way better then the album version) - so joyfull, full of energy, and a much fuller arrangement then the rather 'sketchy' album version. America (the official videoclip) - the album version is nice, but not great IMO, like Baby I am star, part 2. But that version on video is pure magic. That beat, the way the band is moving, those saxophone solo's 'on fire' by Eric and Eddie, and I especially love how confident and swaggering Prince appears in this video: dancing his ass off, throwing singles in the public, pulling funny faces, getting behind the drumkit. Electrifying! When you were mine (Lovesexy Dortmund '88) - Turning a stripped down new-wave pop classic into an anthemic Bruce Springsteen / John cougar Mellencamp like rocker, full of longing and energy.

I recall rading somewhere that Prince was never happy with the arrangement of "Kiss". That's why he plays it differently all the time. Kind of like he's still working on it. When go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!
