Seduced I am reading a book called "Seduced" by Nelson George. As I was reading along, when 3/4 quarters into the book, Prince's name is mentioned. It reads: "As quiet as it is kept, Prince did one spot which everyone thought was a Prince imitator. I mean, Prince same my words. Of course that's Prince singing my words in praise of a Crown Burger".(Refering to a commercial he wrote for "Crown Burger") Later on he refers to a place where Prince and other famous Black men hung out. I wonder what Prince thought or did he know he is part of a novel? Lastly the author wrote about the funk war of Celestial Funk, George Clinton, and Sly Stone.
Anyone else read the book? Prince's Sarah

Anyone else read the book? Years ago, yeah. I enjoyed it, but don't remember those passage. You do know that Nelson George is a culture and music critic who has written/spoken about Prince many times before, yes?

He wrote a brilliant essay called : The death of rhythm and blues in 1988.
" The two greatest black stars of the decade, Michael Jackson and Prince, ran fast and far both from blackness and conventional images of male sexuality (and their videos got on MTV. (...) Prince is similarly troublesome. Where Jackson's androgyny was like of an innocent unaware baby, Prince preached sex as salvation in explicit and often clumsy terms.... Really interesting essay. "open your heart, open your mind
A train is leaving all day..."

No Nelson George wrote a novel (fiction) called 'Seduced' in which a character wrote a song called 'Crown Burger'. Nelson has the character recounting fictitious events which refer to Prince, ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
