The follow up to Purple Rain!

The following tracklist is an album of what I think would have been a solid follow up to Purple Rain.

1. The Screams of Passion
2. Raspberry Beret
3. Nothing Compares 2 U
4. Pop Life
5. A Love Bizarre
6. I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man
7. Moonbeam Levels
8. Desire (The Family version)
9. Paisley Park
10. America

It's a mix of Rock, a little R&B, and a couple ballads that would have been a STRONG set, and fared much better than ATWIAD.

What compilation using songs from the '85-'86 era that Prince gave to other artists, and/or songs that were unreleased... or that were put on the shelf (ICNTTPOYM), do you think would have been a better follow up to Purple Rain than Around the World in a Day?

To me, this album would have been a killer!

Oh... and MAYBE include a duet.

I'm thinkin' Sugar Walls with Sheena Easton!

Yeah... that would have kept Prince right on top with a follow up smash album!

2. Raspberry Beret
3. Nothing Compares 2 U
4. Sugar Walls (duet w/Sheena Easton)
5. Pop Life
6. A Love Bizarre
7. I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man
8. Moonbeam Levels
9. Desire (The Family version)
10. Paisley Park

The beauty of ATWIAD is that it wasn't a carbon copy. It wasn't what people were expecting. It challenged the new fans of Purple Rain to hang with it.

I wouldn't change it at all

others have already given my 1st reason

the 2nd is, we wouldn't have had the Family & Sheila E Romance 1600

I've always thought that the Apollonia 6 album was the missing link between Purple Rain and Around The World In A Day.
