1991. Arsenio Hall Show.

Either Tony M., Kirky J., or Damon D. were grabbing Prince's hips and helping him pump them up and down in a dance move. Another example of when Prince was too Prince for his own good.

While I've always kinda liked it, I still remember folk practically groanin (especially dudes) havin to publically walk this cover to the check out, then lay it out on the counter.

It's not for me. It's for my girlfriend. lurking

You know, the name change is one of the more sensible things Prince has done imo. He could have used a name other than prince... lol but he couldn't sell anything under "Prince" as Warner Bros had trademarked it, and he found a way out of that cage...

My answer to this is... putting Lovesexy (entire album) all on one track. The most idiotic thing Prince has done... "Prince goes wrong" to the max.

I mean, even now... on itunes, it's this one massive track... the mistake that keeps on living...

In a more recent way, when the poor lady couldn't post a video of her kid dancing to a P song. Keeping it Prince at keeping his iron-clad pimp hand strong.

Keeping it Prince means adapting to the musical times, and I think the whole Hip-Hop / Game Boyz faze that he went through went wrong immediately for me as a fan. When he does it himself, I have no complaints. But how many songs did Tony M. butcher because of his wasted presence?

No.

This is the mans artistic vision.

Its like how David Lynch refused to put Chapter Selection on his DVD's because he wanted everything to flow from beginning to end naturally.

Same with Lovesexy, Prince was telling us something, he is an artist, a visonary and therefore will do what his art art and vision asks.

In the words of another artist, Bob Dylan, "Do not criticise what you can't understand"

It's his vision and career

Sorry you didn't get the beauty or message of the Lovesexy cover, but it was amazing when it came out and still amazing today. It's a work of art. Not just Prince showing us his nether regions. It was and is a statement of transformation, beauty, and emancipation. The flowers symbolize a rebirth as he bravely and brazenly shows you his male and female sides. If you can't hear any of that on the album, then it is simply your loss.

Lovesexy is in my Top 3 favorite albums.
Who's questioning the integrity of the album? Or the cover even?

If you weren't a Prince fan you were not looking at that album cover as some deep artistic meaning. I'm sorry but it was just a girly nekkid dude on a flower to most other folk.

That's what I'm talking about.
