His quirkiness was extremely interesting in the movie purple rain in the puppet scenes and the basement moments with appolonia but as the years went by and he started to agree to interviews it became obvious that for all his onstage bravado underneath was a strange little man.

Seriously...a lot of "great" artists are what many would consider "weird", just because they refuse to live in the box that society places us in. Through their work, we get a glimpse of what life is like outside the box.

When Miles Davis had dinner with Prince and his father, he said they were both nuts. So Prince inherited "weirdness" from his father. Prince was born with the umbilical tight around his neck. This might have gave him brain damage and caused his childhood epilepsy. He threw rocks at passing cars so his father beat the crap out of him. These beatings were child abuse. The abuse started a split personality disorder that he acknowledged on Oprah. The reason he wears makeup and women's clothing is because one of his personalities is female. So not yet treated for this disorder thats why Prince always looked whacked out of skull in the 80's. I believe during the crazy Purple Rain era Prince suffered a nervous breakdown which caused further brain damage. Also the Ecstasy he experimented with in 1987 caused permanent brain damage because his music was never the same. It looks like he was became more "normal" in the 2000's either through therapy or his religion.
