Well, I say never say never. I just wondering in awhile if some of those who don't like this disc now will be singing its praises in the future like some do on here for other cds that they put to the side and then come back to it with fresh ears.I wouldn't be shocked if that happened. It reminds me of when When Doves Cry first came out and I was in St. Louis visiting one of my boys and it was premiered on the radio and I heard it and I was so not impressed on initial listen. Just wasn't used to Prince not singing in the lower register so at first I was thinking my boy has gone astray. And I listened to it again and slowly but surely it just crept into me and before I knew it I was in full blown love with that jam. But there is very little that Prince has put out that I dislike besides Solo which I no longer hate but it will never be a favorite of mine. I try to never let what anyone else thinks of a song effect my liking or disliking a song just like movies. I will never forget going to see the vampire movie Lost Boys and then going home and listening to Siskel and Ebert trash it and I had just seen it and enjoyed it so that was when what others thought of any art no longer enter into my mind of what I like or dislike. | |
