Does it exist? "The Good Life '98" Back when Newpower Soul was about to come out, the advance tracklist mentioned that "The Good Life" would be on the album, in it's "Big City" version, with Prince's vocals. In fact, it's mentioned with the rest of the tracks in the rap toward the end of the song "Newpower Soul" and the tracks are misnumbered on the back of the CD beyond that point.
My question is... was there are version of the song that he worked on in 97/98 when he was recording NPS, or was it going to be the version on the 1995 single? Thanks.

I don't know, but the one from the single starting "testicles, 1,2" is tight as all hell. the best hip hop type "rapping" to ever come out of his mouth(he has done other rap like stuff, but not really rap). This song is a true jem and I would welcome it re-released in any form. Most of his rap could be considered spoken work or singing...this is neither. It is actually rap.

I heard it was a brand-new version. He wasn't swearing back in '98, so I guess the 'flow' on the track would be a little interrupted.

An edit of the Big City Remix featured in one of the Ahdio
shows didn't it? It was severely censored. If it had been on NPS, it would have been one of the best trax on there. Love it. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
